    Mustang boys beat
Tigerscots in first half

A 34-22 lead at the half carried the Heppner M ustang
boys’ varsity to a 68-54 win over the W eston-M cEw en
Tigerscots on Friday, Jan. 30 in Athena. The C olum bia Basin
Conference win im proved the M ustangs to 8 and 1 and 15
and 2 overall. There will be CBC games at Umatilla on Friday,
Feb. 6 and at hom e against Sherm an C ounty on Saturday,
Feb. 7.
The Mustangs took a 15-9 lead after one getting three
points each from Luke M urray and B randon Seitz and a 3-
pointer from Gus Torres. They increased their lead getting five
points from Zach Skaggs, three from Aaron Griffith and a 3-
pointer from Kyler Lovgren in the second quarter.
Torres had five points, including a 3-pointer, and Justin
Botefuhr, Skaggs and M urray each added four points as the
M ustangs increased their lead to 53-35 after three and Seitz
had four points in the fourth as they coasted to the win.
Torres led a balanced scoring effort w ith 12 points.
Skaggs added 11 points and Seitz added nine.

The H eppner M ustang JV girls lost a close gam e to
the W eston-M cEw en Tigerscots 37-35 on Friday, Jan. 30 in
A thena in their only gam e o f the w eekend. T he M ustangs
dropped to 7 and 7 on the year and will be at U m atilla on
Friday, Feb. 6 and at hom e against Sherm an C ounty on
Saturday, Feb. 7.
The tw o team s w ere tied at 8-8 after one as Lyndi
Patton hit a 3-pointer and Regi Seitz had three points. The
M ustangs took a 16-13 lead at the half as Lynan Bingham had
four points and Terra Wilson three points in the second quarter.
Patton had five more points in the third as the Mustangs
kept a 25-22 lead, but the T igerscots cam e back to steal the
win despite six points from Bingham.
B ingham led the M ustangs w ith 12 points and four
rebounds. Patton added eight points and three steals. Sandra
Krotzek had five rebounds and tw o steals and Seitz and Sarah
Price each had tw o steals.

getting five points from Brian Smith, four each from Seitz and
C huy Elguezabal and another 3-pointer from M urray in the
second quarter.
They kept up the pace in the third as Seitz had eight
points and M urray four to increase the lead to 49-27. Sm ith

“C onstruction Fraud.” The industry is asking for tim e and
providing the speaker free o f charge. The inform ation is o f

Discussion of fraud protection in dealing with contract persons
