These are some symbols that immediately call to mind the Thanksgiving holiday. H ow ever, b eing thankful isn’t just about one day a year. It's taking a few minutes at the end o f each day to count our blessings, it’s remembering to say thank you to people for all the small things that make a difference each day in our lives; it's expressing gratitude for those fighting for our country’s freedom; it's remembering those who brought us to freedom during other times; it's realizing that the things that make us the most thankful usually involv e feelings, our environm ent, and people, sharing, caring and joining together to accomplish those things, which, when faced alone, looked impossible. As you experience the day . please take time to recall the positiv e things about the past year and be thankful for each other and this community. Relax and enjoy the day. And the next week, take a big breath and prepare to join the Heppner holiday festiv ities on Thursday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 5.
