Mustangs made short work of
the Umatilla Vikings rolling to
a 51-0 lead at halftime and
coasting to a 51-7 win in
Umatilla on Friday, Sept. 19,
to open Colum bia Basin
C o n feren ce play. The
M ustangs (1-0 CBC, 3-0
overall) will host Pilot Rock on
Friday, Sept. 26 for their
homecoming game.
The Mustangs wasted
little time scoring as Kyler

the eight-yard line and went 92
yards for a touchdown then
kicked the extra point for a 7-
0 lead with 9:44 left in the first
quarter.

for a first down at the nine.
Aaron Delveaux ran for five
yards then Elguezabal took it
in for a four-yard run and
Lovgren kicked the extra point
for a 14-0 lead with 7:18 left
in the first.
The team s traded
punts and the Vikings were
forced to punt again with

to the Vikings 22-yard line to
put the Mustangs in a good
field position. Elguezabal hit
Justin Botefuhr for 14 yards
then hit Tanner Britt in the back
o f the end zone for an eight-

interception on a tipped pass
gave the Vikings the ball at their
own eleven.
A short punt gave the
M ustangs the ball at the
tw en ty -o n e and after
scrambling around the field,
Elguezabal found Britt for a
16-yard gain to the five. Boyer
took it in from there for a
touchdow n and Lovgren
added the extra point to make
it 41-0 midway through the
second quarter.
The Mustangs again
had good field position after

G riffith for fifteen, then
Lovgren took it in from 27
yards out and added the extra
point to make it 48-0.
Peter Geer recovered
a fumble deep in Viking
territory and after Walton ran
for 14 yards and Britt went for
