describe the young ladies who
are representing the M orrow
County Fair and Oregon Trail
Pro Rodeo this year. The two
pretty overachievers, Princess
M egan M cCabe, Lexington,
and Princess Lexi Kennedy,
Boardman, are presiding over
th e 2 0 0 3 f a ir a n d ro d e o
festivities.

17, the daughter o f Kevin and
Lori M cCabe, will be a senior
this fall at lone High School.
M egan was bom in Pendleton
and in 1997 the family m oved
to Lexington, where her m om
grew up. H er dad is a native
o f lone.
At lone High School,
the 5 ’6” Megan has been active
in volleyball, basketball and
softball. Besides volleyball, her
favorite activity is riding her

says that “anything goes” with
G inger, w hom she describes
as “ laid b ack ” and adds that
G inger “ loves to eat.” M egan
also has a cat, Socks, w ho she
says is “adventurous and loves
to roam .”

activ ities, M egan is a 4-H
ambassador and has exhibited
4-H pigs. She is a m em ber o f
the lone Youth G roup, is the
student representative to the
p ark s d istric t and w as the
ju n io r c la s s h o m e c o m in g

program s. On top o f it all, she
is on the honor roll at 1HS and

high school, M egan plans to

Com m unity College at Bend.
M egan’s fam ily has a
rich rodeo heritage. Her great-
great-aunt, D im ple C rabtree
M unkers, w as queen o f the
M o rro w C o u n ty F a ir an d
Rodeo in 1934. Her mom, Lori
E dw ards M cC abe, w as the
M o rro w C o u n ty F a ir an d
O re g o n T ra il P ro R o d e o
princess in 1979 and queen in
1 9 80. H e r g r a n d m o th e r ,
C a ro ly n C r a b tr e e , w a s a
M o rro w C o u n ty F a ir an d
R o d e o P rin c e s s . P rin c e s s

Crabtree was a fair and rodeo
princess; her cousin, N onie

cousin Charity McElligott was
a m em ber o f the Grant County
c o u r t. M e g a n ’s g r e a t ­
grandm other, Ruth M cCabe,
has been active in the M orrow
County Fair for over 60 years.
