Som e out o f tow n visitors for the holiday and som e new
residents cam e to enjoy the fellowship and the meal.
O n July 16, the Seventh Day A dventist Church will
provide the volunteers to serve. The menu will consist o f turkey
and ham cold cuts, baked beans, a vegetable tray, cottage
cheese and pears, bread slices and ice cream with cookies.
The volunteers not only help prepare the room and
tables, but serve and clean up. Also one m em ber o f the group
gives the table blessing. This person m ay be the pastor or
another person from the church. The moment ofblessing brings
a moment o f silence, as people wait in anticipation and respect.
A revealing moment occurs as each tradition represents itself,
no only to G od, but also to friends and neighbors o f the
com m unity, w ith ultim ate respect, gratitude and good w ill
setting the tone for the brief time together. The thoughtfulness
shows, in the offering o f the blessing and in the way the blessing
is received by the community.
P re p ara tio n o f th e vacated a p a rtm e n ts is near
completion. New residents are in the process o f moving in and
getting settled. At a future tim e these residents will be
recognized.
■ July 16, at 12 noon, is the regular meeting o f the Board
o f Directors o f the Center. These are open meetings. Everyone
