CARD OF THANKS
Words seem so inadequate
and “ Thank You” not nearly
enough to express the gratitude
and love shown the evening of
April 2 1, 2003 for our troops
and their families. The “Free
dom Parade” exemplified all
that we hoped it would be and
so much more because of all
of the wonderful people who
stepped up to the plate and
made it happen. It was a won
derful experience of everyone
working together, just jumping
in and doing what needed to be
done, almost before they were
asked. Everyone was so help
ful and made it so easy.
We are especially thankful
for the City Council’s approval
and direction, for Verlin Den
ton, Morrow County Sheriff
and his deputies for taking care
of the traffic control, Suzanne
Jepsen for organizing the mu
sic, Tom Wolff and Dale Bates
for setting up the sound sys
tem, Jannie Allen for her post
ers and for making the yellow
bows for the trees on Main
Street, Cliff Green for taking
care of the parade lineup, for
David Allen, Morrow County,
DA. who did a fantastic job as
our MC, for Keith Brudevold,
Methodist Minister for his won
drous voice and leading us in
the “N avy A nthem ” as a
prayer, Craig Canham for tak
ing pictures from “the Cherry
Picker” and tying the yellow
ribbons on top of the tree, to
Wendy Appleton for her sing
ing students and her help in or
ganizing the “ Com m unity
Band”, to Ralph and Sally
Walker for the balloons that
almost made it to the angels, to
Sandy Matthews for her in
credible photos, and to Darren
Van Cleave and Luke Murray
for their inspirational and heart
warming rendition of “ Echo
Taps” on their trumpets.
A special thanks to all the
volunteers who will go un
named, but were very impor
tant in helping make this parade
a reality. Thank you from the
bottom of our hearts to every
one who participated, watched,
walked, or were there in spirit.
We appreciate all of you and
know the boys and their fami-
lies w ill never forget the
evening of April 2 1,2003.
Hugs,
Donna Schonbachler
and Sherree Mahoney
