WC Symphony to perform during St. Pat’s weekend
W C Symphony members practice for Sunday performance
The Willow Creek
Symphony will be performing
Sunday, M arch 16, at
Heppner High School. The
performance will begin at 3:15
p.m.
The WC Symphony is
a local organization that allows
for family musical participation.
Many fam ily groups are
involved in the group; the
Carlson family sports three
generations in the symphony.
Louis Carlson plays the string
base, Sarah Carlson plays the
flute and Alex Carlson plays
the violin.
L ouis has been
playing the base for about five
years now, while Sarah has
played the flute since high
school. Alex, age 11, has
joined in the family’s love of
music and has played the violin
for about six years. Alex is also
a part of the fiddle group The
Shenanigans. The Carlsons
have been a part o f the
symphony for about five years.
According to Louis,
one of the symphony’s hopes
is to work with local schools
to integrate the symphony into
school as a way to allow

Gun Club news
With three weeks left
in the league participation, the
race for the buckles has
tightened.
Je ff C utsforth and
Barry Munkers still sit in first
place, while Harvey Childers
and Mark Schlichting took
over second by one point from
Curt Day and Jim Powney.
Mike Bennet shot for
the first time since the state
shoot last April and busted a
perfect 25 for 25 at the 16-
yard line. It seems he hasn’t
lost his shooting eye.
After league, three
Annie Oaklies were shot with
wins going to Chance Day,
Munkers and Powney. This
was Powney’s first win from
the^T yards. Schlichting won
the only bushwhacker for the
day.
At a recent ATA shoot
in Walla Walla, Childers shot
97 out o f 100 targets to earn
a one-yard handicap. We hope
he can still bust targets from
the 22-yard line.
The first day of Spring,
Friday, March 21, will be the
first shoot “under the lights.”
Shooting will start at 6 p.m.
You are invited to “come on
out and try your luck at night.”
