Having cancer has been the
most humbling experience of my
life. 1 am humbled by the strength
and sheer numbers 1 see every
day at the cancer center. 1 always
leave there feeling lucky to be as
healthy as I am. But mostly 1 have
been humbled by the community
of Heppner. There are not words
to pioperly thank you all. It started
almost the day I was diagnosed
with cards and flowers and has
finally come to the dinner on
Thursday. There have been times
in my life when I wondered why
1 stayed in Heppner. But then I
get reminders o f why we all do. I
don’t think there can be a com
munity anywhere that has more
kindhearted and generous people
than we do. That’s why we stay
and raise our kids here. So they
can know and love the same
people we have grown up with.
Thank you from the bottom of my
heart.
