Jan. 31 in P ilo t R ock. T he

and their overall record dropped
to 11-5 with the loss.
The M ustangs took a
12-10 lead after one, getting four
points each from Brad A dam s
and Chuy Elguezabal, but trailed
25-24 at the h a lf despite four
more points each from A dam s
and Elguezabal in the second
quarter. Luke M urray had five
points in the third quarter but the

The H eppner M ustang
girls’ varsity played three solid
quarters at Pilot Rock but a bad
third quarter let the Rockets take
a 50-45 w in on Friday, Jan. 31
in C olum bia Basin Conference
play. The M ustangs dropped to
4-3 in the CBC and 8-9 overall.
The M ustangs got a 3-
pointer from Jesse K em pas as
they took a 7-6 lead after one
and got eight points from Lacey
M atteson as they took a 21 -14
halftim e lead. M atteson had six
points in the third, but the Rockets
outscored the M ustangs 23-11 to
take a 37-32 lead. M atteson had
seven p oints, in clu d in g a 3-
pointer, in the fourth but the
M ustangs could not regain the
lead.
M atteson had 21 points,
nine rebounds, six steals, three
blocked shots and tw o assists.
Stefanie H anson scored eight
points and grabbed six rebounds.
Kempas had six steals, Madison
Bailey had three assists, Chelsea
Great deer and bird hunting.
