Evelyn Amy Peterson
Evelyn Amy Peterson, 84, of
Irrigon, died Tuesday, Nov. 5,
20 0 2 , at G ood S h ep h erd
Medical Center in Hermiston.
At her request there was no
funeral service. Disposition was
by cremation.
Peterson was bom in Hot
Springs, SD, to H enry and
Margaret Hill Faulstich, on Dec.
14, 1917. She came to Irrigon
10 years ago from Oregon C ity.
She loved crafts, sew ing and
her flower garden.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Arthur Peterson,
and by two children. Survivors
include 10 ch ild ren , m any
grandchildren, and numerous
great-grandchildren and great-
great-grandchildren.

John H. "Jack” Maben,
73, o f H ep p n er, died
Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at
his home.
At his request, no serv ice
was held, but there was a private
family gathering. Disposition was
by cremation.
Maben was bom Dec.
16,1928, at Union Mills, to Peter
and Sylvia Cox Maben.
On Aug. 13, 1949, he
m arried Ruth Thom pson at
Vancouver, WA. The couple lived
at M olalla before moving to
Heppner in 1978. They owned
and o p erated C o u rt S treet
Market in Heppner for 23 years.
Survivors include his
wife, Ruth Maben; sons, Greg
and Jeff, and daughter, Shannon
W icklund, all o f H eppner;
grandchildren, Jason Maben,
Jacob M aben, Jered
Wicklund, Rebecca Chineri, Tara
Cimmiyotti and Jessica Roy;
sister, Louise Cobb o f Coos
B ay; and b ro th e r P ete o f
Willamina. He was preceded in
death by his parents, brothers,

N eil P. D oherty, 84, o f
Denver, formerly o f lone, died
Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at his
home in Denv er.
Doherty was bom June
4, 1918, at lone, to Neil and
Margery Ow en Doherty. He was
raised and attended school in
lone, where he graduated from
high school.
Doherty served with the
U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a painter throughout his
life and lived in California for a
time before moving to Denver.
Survivors include sons

J„ o f Rowenoak, TX, Gregory
T., Moscow, ID, Vincent R„ o f
Mesquite, NC, and Patrick C.,
o f Lewiston, ID; brothers. Matt
