Dear Friends, Relatives, Hep
pner, Lexington, lone. Spray,
Fossil, Boardman, Irrigon,
Pendleton and surrounding com
munities, Oregon and Washing
ton, who honored Tommy by
your cards; flowers; donations;
your presence; phone calls; the St.
Patrick Honor Society for the
abundant dinner; food brought to
the home; cards that keep com
ing; the PMH Staff who donated
to the dinner, both food and work;
the beautiful Black Hills Gold
necklace (the rose) they present
ed to me and framing my palm
so beautiful that it made me look
good; all the comforting attention
those last few days; the hugs and
words of comfort; the tears we
shared so openly; the friends and
staff that sat up there the night
with me; Drs. Berretta, Wenherg
and Datta whose compassion
shown over their profession; Tim
and Myma Van Cleave for the
afternoon of singing with friends
and hospital staff to Tommy dur
ing the critical time, we must
have broken all rules for the hos
pital as for “being quiet" as Tom
my’s heartsong and others filled
the room and halls!
To Pastor Tim for his serv ice
and songs by him and Mom. Dee
and Myma, the music; to Pat and
Trish Sweeney; to our guardian
angels who kept us on our feet
and saved our sanity: Marj Ken
ny who was with us throughout it
all, her visits carried through to
Pendleton St. Anthony Hospital
at the ICU and hack to PMH; her
husband. Bill, who shared her
with us; to the Geo and Winnie
Flynns who came and came - all
their love and devotion just
doesn’t stop!
We can never find the words!
Our children did us proud! They
have been with us throughout our
lives, and you. friends, relatives,
businesses, clubs, every walk of
life have always made Tommy
and his family feel loved and re
spected. We have never felt re
jected. even with my intrusions
of attending ladies’ things like
baby showers with Tommy by my
side, the intimate things, like
walking into a ladies’ restroom
with Tommy at my side, I only
received kindness and under
standing. I could go on! Over the
55 years, there’s so much kind
ness out there; we can all be proud
of each other!
One prominent lady said once,
“It takes a village.” I can go one
over: It takes the towns surround
ing our home, the county offices,
the state offices who were all in
valuable in our lives with Tom
my: the drs. and hospitals far and
near, the specialists and especial
ly the caregivers!; and family is
very important! But most of all,
it takes the love and compassion
along with it all. We had that all
right! Tommy received our most
heartfelt love and he returned it
to us a hundredfold.
I pioneered a road through life
that I never thought I could trav
el, but 1 paved it with love for my
son! Please know that love is one
of our cheapest commodities.
You can share it through happy
times, sad times, give a lot to
those you meet and you will al
ways have a lot left over.
I owe who I am to my family .
My special son. Tommy, taught
me that life has so many facets.
He was our “diamond" that re
flected so many beautiful things
in life. He will be missed so much
by his “Mommy and Daddy”, sis
ters, and brother, but never for
gotten! We love you. dear Tom
my.
Much love and respect to ev
eryone out there. We were very
honored by your kindness and we
accept them in the same manner
they were given us, in love and
respect to us and to the memory
of our dear son, Tommy, “a child
of God”.
From Our Hearts, We Thank
You.
