PUBLIC NOTICE IS HERE­
BY GIVEN, that on October 18,
2002, the Board of Commission­
ers (the “Board”) of the Port of
Morrow, Oregon (the "Port”) will
hold a special meeting commenc­
ing at approximately 9:00 a.m.
The public meeting will be held
at the regular meeting place of the
Board, at the offices of the Port,
located at Two Marine Drive,
Boardman, Oregon 97818.
The purpose of the meeting
is to consider an ordinance or res­
olution authorizing the proposed
issuance by the Port of up to
$25,000,000 Revenue Bonds, in
one or more series, for the pur­
pose of refunding certain out­
standing obligations of the Port,
financing a portion of the costs
of equipping, improving and ex­
panding the Port’s cogeneration
facilities located in Heppner, Or­
egon, funding certain reserves
and paying costs of issuance of
the Bonds.

John Day Fossil Beds
National Monument will offer a
ranger-conducted hike into the
spectacular Blue Basin Fossil
Beds on Saturday, Oct. 5,
beginning at 10 a.m. It will begin
at the Blue Basin trailhead,
located three miles north of the
Sheep Rock Unit visitor center
along State Route 19.
The two-hour hike will
feature the geologic landscape
and fossil history of the basin.
Participants should bring good
hiking shoes, a sun hat, jacket,
water bottle and a camera. This
is the last Blue Basin hike of the
year.
