hearing of public interest on
Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at
10:00 a.m. at the Morrow Coun
ty Courthouse in Heppner, Ore
gon:
The third hearing to consid
er the adoption of the Lexington

purpose being to identify the ex
isting configuration of the airport
and to establish current and long
term airport needs. This new Air
port Layout Plan (ALP) will re
place and supercede the 1983
ALP Report and Environmental

ings reflect current conditions

ALP study also includes a new
land-use plan map for the airport
and its surrounding area. The sur
rounding areas are subject to the
existing Airport Approach Zone
and Airport Hazard Zone. The
affected surrounding areas have
not changed from the 1983 study;
however, the new ALP accurate
ly identifies those lands that are
subject to the Airport Approach

tion of the ALP will also include
a zone change of the airport,
whereby aviation-related uses
will be permitted outright. Crite
ria for consideration of the pro
posed Lexington Airport Layout

"Thanks for not blowing smoke
at work, Oregon.”
I used to work outside. Used to smoke, too. Been inside working in this
warehouse for fifteen years. Quit smoking about that time. But every
time someone else would light up. I’d smell that smoke in
the air. And I'd just want to get away. That was before
the Oregon Smokefree Workplace Law.
Now smoking doesn't work in Oregon. And
I’m breathing a whole lot easier.
