Thank you to all of our friends
and family in Morrow County for
the prayers, food, cards and sup
port while Paul is recuperating.
It is so comforting to live in such
a caring community and county.
Paul has a long road of recovery
ahead of him. A special thanks to
everyone who has pitched in and
helped out with the care of our
livestock and land, and for trans
porting us to and from Portland.
Without you, things would have
been impossible the last couple
of weeks. We are hoping that Paul
will be moved into a rehabilita
tion center this week. Thanks
again from the bottom of our
hearts.
Charity, Jeremiah, Salli,
and Diana McElligott

Every year we have a celebra
tion. We use the Kentucky Derby
as an excuse to gather friends and
family and say thank you for the
ability to know our neighbors and
live in a town filled with people
we enjoy. This is always a very
fun event for us. We have been
fortunate that in the many years
we have had our WRKDDC we
have not had a conflict. We knew
eventually it would happen and
this year it has. So this card of
thanks will have to suffice. We
realize it in no way can replace
one (or more) of Mike’s famous
Mint Juleps or Kim’s renowned
turkey, but it is the best we can
do. May 5, when you wake up
refreshed with that gam bling
money still safe in your pocket,
you will be grateful for this con
flict. We will be back next year!
Thank you,
Kim and Mike Armato

On a recent inspection by
Union Pacific Railroad bridge
inspectors, the railroad overpass
on Boardman’s Main Street was
determined to have some struc
tural problems. This bridge leads
to the Port o f M orrow ’s
Riverfront Center, several busi
nesses and the Boardman Marina
and RV Park. The bridge was
closed for a little over a month
awaiting plans for repairs to be
made. During this closure, ve
hicles were rerouted through the
Port’s Industrial Park.
The bridge recently reopened
thanks to a cooperative effort
from Oregon D epartm ent o f
Transportation, the City o f
Boardman and the Port of Mor
row. A special thanks to Frontier
Resources for help coordinating
the purchase of materials and to
J & D Electric for their contribu
tion of supplies and equipment
for this project.
A long-term closure of this
bridge would have been not only
inconvenient, but a financial
hardship to many businesses. We
are very appreciative to have
ODOT come in with their advice
and help to repair the bridge on
such short notice. Without this
support, it was very likely that the
bridge would have remained
closed for an extended period of
time. We are very happy to have
been involved in the cooperation
between public agencies and pri
vate businesses to come to a quick
resolution to the bridge repair.
Thank you to all the parties
involved for your participation.
