Shuttle bus offered
during St. Pat’s
festivities
Two shuttle buses, starting at
9 a m. and concluding at 5 p.m.,
offer transportation around town
during the St. P a tric k ’s
Celebration Saturday. March 16.
The schedule begins and ends with
stops at the Willow Creek Lake
RV Park, and includes stops at the
Thompson Ranch for the sheep
dog trials, the fairgrounds and
M iller’s M anufacturing at the
South Morrow Industrial Park, in
addition to numerous sites around
town.

Symphony and
singers to perform
on St. Patrick’s Day
The Willow Creek Symphony
and Willow Creek Singers will
perform their spring concert at the
Heppner Elem entary Gym on
Sunday. March 17. at 3 p.m. The
symphony will present a variety
o f music, including selections
from “ The S tin g " and an
arrangement of “Jurassic Park"
by Anthony Marks of LaGrande.

“T elem ann S in fo n ia," and
“G eorgian T unes,” a suite o f
popular English tunes from the
middle 18th century. The singers
will perform “Song of the Sea" by
Raymond H annisian and two
selections by John Rutter, “Soldier
Boy” and “The Terrible Tale of
TomGilligan.’’
The Willow Creek Symphony
and Singers are directed by R
Lee Friese of Athena. Assistant
conductor for the symphony is
Anthony Marks o f LaGrande.
The symphony consists o f 42
children, youth and adults from
Morrow and Umatilla counties
and Walla Walla. Washington. The
singers include 15 youth and
adults. Both groups are based in
Heppner and are affiliated with
Inland Northwest Musicians.
The concert is free to the
public and is sponsored by the
Morrow
County
Unified
Recreation District. It is also
supported by donations from the
Morrow County Commission on
Children and Families, the Herbert
A. Templeton Foundation and
Central Red Apple Market.
The Willow Creek Symphony
w ill also present two Young
People’s Concerts for area school
children on Thursday, March 14.
These will be held at 9:30 a.m. and
10:45 a m . at the Echo
Community Center.
