Sheriff's Report
The Morrow County Sheriff’s
Office (MCSO) reports handling
the following business:
-MCSO, Boardman Locks re­
ceived a request for assistance
from a caller at Bake's parking
lot who locked her keys in her
vehicle.
-MCSO deputy cited Herman
Leon Gunnels, 73, for Violation of
the Basic Rule, 82 mph in a 55
mph zone.
-lrrigon Ambulance received a
request for an ambulance for a
78-year-old female w ith bronchi­
al pneumonia. The patient was
transported to Good Shepherd
Medical Center in Hermiston.
-MCSO received a report from a
caller in lone of a black lab miss­
ing.
-Boardman Police Dept, officer
cited Bradley Dean Reese, 18,
for Failure to Use Seat Belt.
-MCSO received a report from a
caller in lrrigon that shop tools
and a bicycle were stolen.
-MCSO received a report o f a
large metal box, possibly electric
or phone, wide open at the cor­
ner of Wilson and Faler roads.
-MCSO, Oregon State Police re­
ceived a report from a caller in
Imgon that a vacant house had
windows broken out and some­
one was possibly in the house.
Officers were unable to locate
anyone in the residence.
-MCSO received a request for
information on the legalities of a
rifle donated to an auction,
-lrrigon Fire Dept, received a re­
port of an illegal bum in lrrigon.
-MCSO received a report from a
caller in Boardman that he was
almost hit by a vehicle at the Sen­
try M arket parking lot in
Boardman.
-MCSO received a report that
private parties were held at an
lone restaurant at night, with no
operator on the premises, violat­
ing the liquor license. The caller
requested a deputy drive by and
notify him if people were on the
premises.
-MCSO received a report from
UCSO that Shelley R. Birdwell,
38, was in custody on a Morrow
County Circuit Court warrant for
Parole Violation/Possession of a
Controlled Substance C Felony.
There was also an additional war­
rant out of LaGrande. She was
lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.
-MCSO received a report of a
possible DUII on 1-84; a vehicle
was driving erratically. The vehi­
cle turned into Boardman.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a report from a caller in Heppner
who said that a young male sub­
ject carrying a large butcher knife
came to his house and said that
other kids were scaring him. The
subject asked to see the caller’s
daughter, who wasn’t home. The
subject left the residence in an
unknown direction. Officers were
unable to locate the subject.
-MCSO, Oregon State Police,
Boardman Police and Fire depts.,
Boardman Ambulance received a
report of a very intense fire and
heavy black smoke at the 1-84/
Highway 730 interchange. A ve­
hicle was fully engulfed in fire,
possibly caused by arson. The
vehicle was later towed and im­
pounded.
Jan. 25: MCSO, Heppner Police
Dept, received a report of a shot
heard behind the bowling alley,
then footsteps running across the
pedestrian footbridge toward
downtown Heppner. An officer
was unable to locate anyone.
-MCSO deputy cited a subject for
Exceeding the Maximum Speed
Limit, 77 mph in a 65 mph zone.
-MCSO deputy cited a subject for
Violation of the Basic Rule, 77
mph in a 55 mph zone.
-MCSO received a report from
Hermiston Police Dept, that Rob­
ert Morley, 33, was arrested on a
Morrow County warrant for Fail­
ure to Appear/Menacing, Harass­
ment. He was lodged at the
Umatilla County Jail with $40,000
bail.
-MCSO received a report from
H erm iston Police Dept, that
Dean Polston, 32, was arrested
on a Morrow County warrant for
Probation Violation. He was
lodged at the Umatilla County Jail
with no bail.
-MCSO received a report from a
caller in Lexington that a male
subject was driving a backhoe
down Main Street.
-MCSO received a report from
Oregon State Police that Billie
Kimberlein was arrested on Mor­
row County warrants for Failure
to Pay Fine/Contempt of Court
and Failure to Pay Fine/Harass-
ment. Kimberlein was lodged at
the Umatilla County Jail with $906
bail on each.
-lrrigon Ambulance received a
report from a caller in lrrigon that
a 25-year-old female had extreme
abdominal pain.
-Boardman Ambulance received
a request for an ambulance from
a caller in Boardman for an 86-
year-old female with an unknown
medical problem.
-MCSO received a request for
deputy contact from a caller in
Boardman regarding a lost cell
phone.
-MCSO received a report of a
missing dog in lrrigon. A neigh­
bor told the caller that somebody
took the dog.
-MCSO received a request for
deputy contact from a caller in
Boardman regarding a custody

this was a civil problem. The caller
requested her ex-husband be con­
tacted and advised she would be
in Spokane in three hours to ex­
change a child. The mother-in-law
was notified.
-MCSO, Boardman Police Dept,
received a report of two vehicles
racing on the west end of Wilson
Lane in Boardman.
-MCSO received a report from a
caller in lrrigon that someone
pounded on her door then fled in
an unknown direction. The caller
requested a patrol of the area.
Jan. 26: MCSO, UCSO, Oregon
State Police received a report of
a silent alarm at Wagon Trail
Farms. A vehicle was pursued and
a possible subject identified.
-Boardman Police Dept, received
a request for a officer standby at
a residence in Boardman so a
subject could pick up his belong­
ings.
-MCSO, Boardman Police Dept,
received a report from the
Boardman Post Office of four
bullet holes in a window.
-MCSO received a report of a
burglary alarm at an address in
lrrigon.
-Boardman Police Dept, received
a request for officer contact in
Boardman regarding a white rat
in a vehicle carriage.
-MCSO received a request for
deputy contact from a caller in
lrrigon regarding a subject who
assaulted her daughter and threat­
ened her son.
-MCSO, Heppner Police Dept,
received a report from a caller in
Heppner whose ex-husband was
in violation of a restraining order.
-MCSO, Boardman Police Dept,
received a request for intercep­
tion assistance from Oregon State
Police trooper who was in pur­
suit of a vehicle.
-Boardman Police Dept, officer
cited a male subject for No Op­
erator’s License and Driving Un­
insured. The vehicle was im­
pounded.
-Boardman Police Dept, received
a report from Boardman Kegler’s
Sentry Market that a shoplifter
had been detained. The juvenile
was cited for Shoplifting.
-MCSO received a request to
speak to a person at Services to
Children and Families. The mes­
sage was delivered to the person

ly intoxicated. The vehicle was
last seen on 1-84. Oregon State
Police were contacted.

determined to be okay and the

officers stopped a male subject for
DUII. The subject escaped and
eluded officers on foot. A search
was initiated but officers were
unable to locate the subject.

that his vehicle had been broken
