The Heppner Mustangs footbal l
team will host the Portland Christian
Royals in the opening round o f the
OSAA-U.S. Bank state 2A football
players this Saturday, Nov. 10, at
1 p.m. at the M orrow County
Fairgrounds.
Admission prices are $6 for adults
and $4 for students. Ticket prices
are set by the OSAA. Advanced

Office (M CSO) reports handling
the following business:
-M CSO, Oregon State Police
received a report from a caller on
1-84 eastbound o f a semi-truck
passing dangerously and spilling
onions onto the road.
-M CSO received a report from
a caller in Heppner that a subject
contacted her and was not supposed
to per Linn County Court order.
-M CSO received a report o f a
mailbox hit in Boardman.
-MCSO received a request from
the Hermiston Police Dept, to check
a residence in Irrigon for a subject
who m ay have been involved in a
hit-and-run accident in Hermiston.
Hermiston Police Dept, requested
that everyone at the residence be
identified.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
request to check a construction
building at Lakeview Estates. A
window was possibly open or broken.
The building was secure
-MCSO deputy, BPD a ted Dermis
M ark Olsen, 50, for DUII. The
vehicle was impounded.
-M CSO, Oregon State Police
received a report o f a semi-truck all
over the road on 1-84 westbound
and alm ost running o ff the road.
-M CSO received a report o f
subjects driving recklessly through
an area in Irrigon.

warrant for Parole Violation/Assault

possible drug activity at the old
Imgon Post Office. A vehicle was
in and out o f the area at all hours.
S ept 18: MCSO received a report
of a dog chasing cattle in Boardman
-M CSO received a report from
a caller in lone that his standing
telephone poles were cut and
removed from a road about 1/2 mile

a caller in lone that an adult male
subject was shooting a puppy with
a pellet gun.
-MCSO received a report from
Oregon State Police that Lisa Luan
Amme, 39, was lodged at the
Umatilla County Jail for Driving
while

was released on her own

-MCSO deputy cited a subject

a report of a disabled vehicle on 1-84
eastbound with the driver trying to
flag down vehicles.

Boardman am bulance received a
report o f a subject attem pting to
overdose on acetaminophen and an
herbal diuretic. The patient was
transported to Good Shepherd
Medical Center in Hermiston.
-M CSO deputy requested a
veterinarian at a residence in
Boardman. A pitbull threatened the
deputy and the deputy shot in self-
defense. The owners were at the
scene; the vet advised to bring the
dog to the clinic.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a request for officer contact in
Heppner.
-MCSO received a report that
an unoccupied esidence in Imgon
had a door knocked down and glass
broken.
The Royals qualified for the state
playoffs by finishing in second place
’ in the Northwest League with a 4-2
league record. Portland Christian
was 4-5 overall for the season.
The winner o f the Heppner-
Portland Christian will play the
winner o f the Oakridge-Bonanza
contest the following Saturday, Nov.
17.
-MCSO received a request for
deputy contact regarding people
moving in Imgon but leaving a mess
behind. A deputy was later flagged
down by a person to talk about the
situation.
-MCSO received a report o f a
male subject at the eastbound rest
area in Boardman changing the plates
on his vehicle. All was okay; the
subject had just moved to Oregon
and was changing plates.
-MCSO, Morrow County
Behavioral Health received a request
for assistance from Im gon for the
caller's 14-year-old son who was
out o f control, threatening to run
away and threatening suicide.
-Oregon State Police received
a report o f a two-vehicle accident
on Highway 730. It was a non-injury,
non-blocking accident.
-MCSO. Boardman Police Dept.,
Boardman ambulance received a
request for assistance from a His
Place in Boardman. A male subject
was upset and possibly suicidal. The
patient was transported to Good
Shepherd Medical Center in
Hermiston; however, he refused
hospital care and became combative.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy contact in Imgon regarding
someone breaking into a pickup and
neighbors knocking at the caller's
residence requesting auto parts.
-MCSO received a 911 hang up
call from a residence in Imgon. Upon
contacting the residence, all was
confirmed okay.
-MCSO received a request for
deputy contact in Boardman
regarding a domestic situation that
occurred two days earlier in Imgon.
-MCSO deputy cited a juvenile
for menacing.
Sept 19: MCSO received a report
o f a gunshot in the field behind the
caller's residence in Boardman.
-Boardman Police Dept officers
cited Sheny Arm Jones, 37, for Dl III
The vehicle was towed
-MCSO received a 911 hang-up
call from a room at the Riverfront
Lodge in Boardman. Contact was
made with the front desk and they

advised it was a miss-dial. Later,
another 911 hang-up call was
received from the same room. The
receptionist said she would speak
with the occupants about it.
-MCSO received a report from
a caller who was receiving harassing
phone calls at work from her fiance's
ex-girlfriend.
-MCSO received a report o f three
pickups with "No Raceway" signs
on them dnvmg up and down Wilson
Lane.
-MCSO received a request for
Wheat Foundation
offers scholarship
The Oregon Wheat Foundation,
Inc., is offering a scholarship
program for graduating seniors whose
families are members of the Oregon
Wheat Growers League. Students
w hose family members arc employed
by OWGI. members arc also eligible.
One 3500 award ..ill be made
to a qualifying student from each
o f the participating counties, w hich
include Baker. Gilliam. Klamath.
M alheur. Morrow. Sherman.
Um atilla, Union, W allowa and
Wasco. In addition one award will
be made in the Willamette Valley
counties.
Application forms, which must
be returned by February 1,2002,
is available from OW GL county

In addition to the scholarship
program , the Oregon Wheat
Foundation sponsors the Bushels
for Betsy program w hich provides
pancake mix to the Oregon Food
Bank, funds an annual program to
send a young wheat farmer to
Washington D C. during the National
Association o f Wheat Growers
Congrcssional Week, and has assisted
in fund raising efforts to purchase
equipment for the Columbia Basin
Agricultural Research Center

a residence in Im gon.

All attempts to recontact the business
were met with a busy signal. It was
determined that all was okay; it was
a misdial.
-M CSO received a report from
Huwe's Washboard in Im gon that
the owner possibly knew w ho took
pop cans.

Kaiden Marcus was bom to Jeff and
Stephanie (W right) Moody of
Portland on October 23, 2001, at
Oregon Health Sciences University
Hospital in Portland. The baby
weighed 4 lbs. 11 oz.
He joins step-sister Jordan Moody
and step-brother Drew Moody at

Social Club
meets
Ihc Rhea Creek Social Club met
at GD's Restaurant with 15 members
present. Linda Riney was welcomed
as a guest.
The meeting was opened with
the Pledge o f Allegiance. Those in
attendance enjoyed a program by
Mike Armato who spoke on the
functions o f Community Action
Project o f East Central Oregon.
The next meeting will be

CBEC to conduct
tree trimming
Columbia Basin Electric Co-op.
and their subcontractors, will be
conducting their annual tree trimming
operation throughout the service
territory during the next six weeks.
Trimming o f trees around power
lines is an annual chore and is
required by Oregon P.U. C. and REA
to reduce outages and ensure
continuity o f electrical service,
according to a CBEC news release.
