Klamath relief fund to stop

to participate in this event "as a
symbol o f support and to encourage
the return to reason, common sense
and sound science decision making
where people and the environment
are concerned," said a Oregon Wheat
Growers League press release.
Donations o f food (non-
perishable and fresh produce),
animal feed and cash will be
accepted and will be transported
by the members o f the convoy to
Klamath Falls.
Dinner will be available at the
Convention Center for a small fee
o f $5 per person, collected at the
door. Everyone is welcome to attend.
For those planning to attend the
dinner, it is recommended to RSVP
to the staff o f the Oregon Wheat
Growers League at 276-7330 in
advance so enough food is prepared.
This convoy originated out of
Elko, Nevada, on Aug. 14 and was
scheduled to make stops in Ogden,
Utah, Twin Falls and Boise, Idaho;
and LaGrande before arriving in
Pendleton on Thursday afternoon.
After leaving Pendleton, the
convoy will stop in The Dalles,
Portland, McMinnville, Salem/
Corvallis, Eugene, Roseburg and
White City. They are scheduled to
arrive in Klamath Falls on Monday,
Aug. 20, in time to participate in
a "Freedom Day" Rally scheduled
for Aug. 21 where members of the
other two convoys, local farmers,
and business representatives will
gather to hear speakers and continue
to craft solutions.
The local business communities
of Pehdleton and Flermiston have
been asked to donate items for an
aucnon to be held on Thursday, Aug.
16, with all proceeds going to the
Klamath Falls Relief Fund. Auction
items may be delivered to the
Oregon Wheat Growers League
office, 115 SE^ 8th Street, Pendleton,
prior to Thursday or items may be

are tax-deductible, as the Klamath
Relief Fund is a 501(c)3
organization.
The Oregon Farm Bureau and
Oregon Water Coalition have joined
forces with the Oregon Wheat
Growers League to organize this
event and invite all of their members

3,176.53 acre parcel into two

originally adopted by Morrow
County in 1980 and acknowledged

Morrow County has approved
numerous amendments. Those
previous amendments have been
incorporated in to the actual text
and are now part of each document,
the Zoning Ordinance and the
Subdivision Ordinance. This land
use action will also include minor

delay in acknowledging the fol­
lowing people for their assistance
in locating a refrigerator and the
paying o f it, for an elderly, wid­
owed woman whose refrigerator
had died and was without one for
two months before we became
involved.

direction; Kit and Shirley George
of Lott’s Electric store for having
a good used refrigerator, and es­
pecially Tim Van Cleave, secre­
tary of the Ministerial Association,
which heard the story and paid for
it. This was a pleasant surprise for
us, as we were planning to pay
for it ourselves.
We delivered the refrigerator
in mid-July to the lady. She was
so pleased and happy to get it; the
tears in her eyes were payment
enough.
