Barney Lindsay and his wife, Kimberly, enjoy an Italian dinner amid
a packed Elks Club July 19. The benefit dinner raised funds for legal
costs for Lindsay and Keith Lewis, Morrow County School board
members whose positions were vacated by the board because of
zoning issues. Lindsay is challenging the board’s action in court.

BULLETIN BOARD
It was a very quiet Monday morning with the afternoon the same.
Tuesday morning was exercise class, but we didn't have any. Exercise
class leader Barbara Struthers was sick with pneumonia. God bless her.
We wish her well.
I can't take her place in class as the doctor said it would be two more
weeks until I can kick up my heels from the Fourth of July accident.
Tuesday afternoon, there was one table of card players with Donnie
Reed, Bonnie Gates, Marian Murchison and Floss Watkins.
Well, it was a bad day for sickness. Daisy Collins had a doctor's
appointment.
Sylvia McDaniel and I worked the puzzle while other ladies played
cards. Daisy Collins and Dorris Graves exchanged hands with two other
ladies.
Here it is, Thursday, and another senior meal in the dining room.
The menu included chefs salad with ham, turkey, cheese and eggs, garbanzo
beans, tomatoes, fruit salad, muffins, dixie cup ice cream, milk, coffee
and tea.
Don't feel bad-I don't know what garbanzo beans are either. But
they are good protein.
Bud Lundell says, "The DeLorean is a great car of the past-in the
1970s (a sad ending)." I don't remember the car, but then a lot o f car
names I don't remember. I saved pictures of all the old cars back to 1917.
We had a good turnout for the Wednesday senior dinner and it was
very good. A big salad, fruit salad and chocolate ice cream sure hit the
spot. Also, the fruit punch was delicious. Joanna is a very good cook.
Missed Corol not being in the kitchen.
There were several good helpers in the kitchen on Wednesday. I
didn't get their names, but will next time. Lois White also helps in the
kitchen.
There was no exercise class on Thursday as Barbara Struthers is
still sick. I couldn't lead the class either as my neck and head are giving
me a bad time.

egg sandwiches, tomato soup, fruit salad, juice, milk and coffee.
Friday, July 20-boy am I glad to see this rain. It took some o f my
pains away. I went for a nice walk.
It was another quiet morning around here. Two tables of cards were
played in the afternoon. Sylvia and I worked on the puzzle.
I made a mistake last week in the news. I meant Dorns Graves played
cards last week. Instead I said Dons Brosnan. Please forgive me. Also
in last week's news, I made another mistake-Dorris Graves volunteered
in the office, not Doris Brosnan.
They say if you don't make mistakes, you're not paying attention.
I sure must not pay attention.
Vema Brinda is volunteering Friday afternoons in the office.
Adam and Riley Wight came to visit us seniors, and their great
grandmother, Velma Wight.
Saturday morning, July 21, it was a beautiful day and 1 went for
a walk. I met a few friends on my way. Saturday afternoon, everyone
got ready for Jane Rawlins' memorial service.
Sunday morning, it was another beautiful day. I would like some
rain at night, but I well take whatever the good Lord gives.
Monday moming-it is hard to breathe this morning, but I will just
keep praying for rain, just in the town of Heppner, as probably the poor
farmers don't need it just now.
So long for this week and I wish everyone a happy next week. God
Bless.
