BULLETIN BOARD g S jft
By Liz Straley
For the month of June, Ernie McCabe was busy Monday morning
doing his wall decorating at the meal site dining room, with colorful
flowers, bikes, kites, boats and different designs of "Old Sal" and decorating
the tables with baskets of spring flowers.
Exercise class was held Tuesday morning and there was one card
table of players, with the coffee pot on and snacks served. Marion Murcheson
was in Hermiston for a good part of the day and Velma Wight and son
Gary went to Bend to do some family business. Also, Dorns Graves
was out of town this weekend for a grandchild's graduation. The puzzle
comer was available, with Sylvia McDaniel and Bud Lundell in for a
cup of coffee and a snack.
There were 102 diners and takeouts on Wednesday, with general
kitchen help from All Saints Episcopal Church.
For the datebook, Corol Mitchell announced that the "Bingo Bus"
will be ready to go at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each
month.
On June 12, there was a bus going to the Arlington Masonic Hall
for the senior meal site lunch. The driver was John Church.
On Monday, June 25, the bus will be leave at 10:30 a.m. for Stokes
Landing in Imgon for lunch. John Church will be the driver. Sign up

for a shopping trip to Wal-Mart in Hermiston and lunch, so bring your
"fat wallet" and good walking shoes and don't forget to ask the helpful
staff if you can't find what you want. I speak from experience as it is
a big place.
Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, we had a bit of excitement as the volunteer
firemen and fire truck showed up at the center looking for a fire. Fortunately
there was none. It seems the police/fire alarm for the center went off
and the fire dept, was alerted. The police and manager Marion Murcheson
checked out every place and all was well and back to normal. We hope
it wasn’t a prank or crossed wires.
Bud says, the first Chrysler car was a "Maxwell" with the Chrysler
logo on the radiator. That was Jack Benny's car if you remember the
radio days.
Exercise class was held on Thursday morning. Lunch was lima bean
soup with ham, fresh combread and peach cobbler with ice cream and
beverage. The afternoon movie, Walt Disney's "Pocahontas," was enjoyed
by all.
There were two card tables of players on Friday with coffee and
a good assortment of cookies and snacks available. The puzzle comer
was busy.
A note to the wise, if we do not use the bus or it is not in use much,
we may lose it; so give it some thought.
On Wednesday, June 13, the Father's Day lunch was taco salad (beef,
tomatoes, onions, grated cheese and lettuce), tater tots, kidney beans,
rolls, tortilla chips, gingerbread and beverage.
