Cub Scout Pack 661 advanced
17 boys to new Cub Scout ranks
at the pack meeting held May 30.
Trent Miles and Cameron
McCurry advanced from Cub Scouts
to the Boy Scout Troop. They were
welcomed into their new troop by
Scout Master Dan Metz.
Trent Miles earned his Arrow
of Light award. The Arrow of Light
is the highest award a boy can earn
as a Boy Scout. It is also the only
cub scout badge worn on the Boy
Scout uniform.

This year marks the 60th year
of service by the Reverend
Monsignor Raymond H. Beard as
a priest o f the Diocese of Baker.
A reception to honor him will be
held on Sunday. June 10, from 2-4
p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall
in Athena. The public is invited to
attend.
