Booster Club
discusses gym
The Cardinal Booster Club met
Thursday, Apnl 13, at the lone High
School library.
The club discussed the work on
the gym. The girls' tennis and boys'
basketball state academic signs will
have to be changed from 1A to all
level. One more bracket board needs
to be put up. It was agreed to
postpone moving the academic signs
until after graduation.
The Fourth of July shirts have
been ordered. The navy blue, long
sleeve embroidered shirts will be
sold for S20 apiece. The shirts will
be presold at Wheatland Insurance
and are available in adult sizes
medium to 2X. The club will also
sell past years' shirts, including
children's sizes, for $15 each.
The new track warmups have
arrived and are being used by the
team. The Lloyd and Mid Morgan
Memorial Fund made a $500
donation to pay for half of the
warmups, with the club paying the
balance.
Cyndi Heagy and Krishna Powell
asked for financial help for the Med
Quest Camp they will attend this
summer. The June camp at Eastern
Oregon State College in LaGrande
costs $225 each. The club voted
to give each of the girls $100.
The club agreed to provide power
drinks and healthy snacks for the
district and state track and tennis
teams.
Athletic Director Dean Robinson
suggested combining the sport and
community calendars. After
discussion it was decided to continue
with both calendars, but only ask
for a single donation from businesses
for ads. For $100 a business can
purchase 2"xl" ads on both
calendars as well as have club
membership, their names in the
district basketball programs and
be included on all district or state
newspaper ads.
The club will help sponsor the
boys' football and basketball all-star
ads by donating $25 each
Coach Del LaRue noted work
needs to eventually be done on the
track area The pole vault, long jump
and high jump areas need to be
paved or new mats purchased
The club approved the equipment
purchase by Dale Holland for the
Bigger. Faster. Stronger Program
