We are open evenings! 1 % By Liz Straiey As you know, or the past two to three months, St. Patrick's Senior Center has been going through a "face lift" and interior replacement and repair work. We are happy to tell you that the old "washboard floor" in the dining room has been replaced and recovered and is in "ballroom shape." After missing two meals, we are back in business. The Easter dinner menu was roast pork and beef with all the trimmings. Our compliments and kudos to the chefs and all the help. In spite of the bad weather (snow), the meal was enjoyed by 80-90 diners. Plus, the decorators outdid themselves as usual. The sale table did a brisk business and should be checked out for good bargains every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. we have a video exercise class for 50 minutes. Our Tuesday night Bingo is back on track with "goodies." Give it a whirl at 7 p.m. On Thursday at noon, we have a self-service hot lunch for the residents and anyone who wants to drop in. If you don't have "deep pockets," it's worth the usual donation or whatever. Some days we get a surprise. Also on Thursdays, at 2 p.m., we enjoyed a video. "An American in Paris," an old classic, was enjoyed by all last week. We have a "puzzle comer" set up for anyone who wants to help out. Sylvia McDaniels, a renown Heppner artist, will appreciate your help and a chat. Sylvia’s mural decorates city hall. On Fridays from 1 -4 p.m., we set up for pinochle for the residents and anyone who drops in. The coffee pot and goodies are on hand, along with good gossip and rumors. Two card tables were filled last Friday. The lunch menu for April 18 was rib of beef, oven fries, green salad, pineapple with cottage cheese, biscuits, dixie cups, coffee, tea and milk. We hope Jane Rawlins is on the mend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYSI % W ith love, fro m A p ril, C h ris, A lliso n & C a m ille TIME... as unique as the Occasion b e s t s u m m e r e v er.
