A Seder Feast will be held
Thursday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. at
Valby Lutheran. Those planning to
attend should make reservations.
A Seder Feast will be held
at Hope Lutheran on Friday, April
13, at 7 p.m.

Easter
Sunday
worship will be held at Valby at 8
a.m. with an Easter breakfast and
egg hunt planned for 9 a.m.
An Easter breakfast is
planned at Hope Lutheran prior to
11 a.m. worship.
St. Patrick's Church
On Holy Thursday, April
12, a solemn commemoration of
the Lord's Supper will begin at 7
p.m. At this time, the church
recalls the institution o f the
Blessed Eucharist.
On Good Friday. April
13, the Stations o f the Cross will
begin at 12:05 p.m. This devotion
is
a
meditation
on
the
condemnation, suffering and death
o f the Savior. A commemoration
o f the death o f the Savior will also
be held at 7 p.m.
On Holy Saturday, an
Easter vigil will begin at 5 p.m.
This ceremony includes scriptural
highlights o f the history o f the
Chosen People a light service,
blessing o f the water that will be
used in Baptism, reception o f new
members into the church and the
recalling o f the resurrection o f
Jesus.
On Easter Sunday, April
15, an Easter Mass o f the
Resurrection will begin at 11 a.m.
with music provided by the folk
group.

continues to support reading education
at Heppner Elementary School with
his R & W Reading Program.

Sonrise Service
The South Morrow County
Ministerial Association's annual
Easter Sonrise Service will be held
at the Morrow County Fairgrounds
grandstands on Sunday, April 15,
at 7 a.m.
Pastors from six different churches
will participate in the service and
Monika Hunter will sing "He is
Risen."
"The Ministerial Association
encourages everyone to start their
Easter morning by gathering together
to celebrate our risen Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ," said a news release.
Those attending should dress
warmly.
First Christian Church
Heppner First Christian Church's
Easter activities will begin at 10 a.m.
on Easter Sunday, April 15, with a
coffee and donut fellowship. Services
will begin at 10:45 a.m.
In the children's church, an Easter
egg hunt will be held and the children
will learn about the Resurrection
story.
The adult message, "Hell's Most
Horrible Hypothesis," will be
presented by minister Andrew
Johnson.
Child care will be provided and
visitors are welcome to attend.
Alumni place
in college
rodeos
Heppner High School
alumni, Justin and Lexi Matteson,
have placed well in recent college
rodeos.
Justin took first place in
steer wrestling at a college rodeo
in Walla Walla March 2-4. He was
first in the first go-round, second
go-round and the average.
He took second place in
team roping with second-place
spots in the first and second go-
rounds and the average. He also
took second go-round and average
in calf roping.
In a college rodeo in
Ellensburg April 6-7, Lexi took
third in the first go-round of
breakaway roping, second in the
second go-round and second for
the average.

Infant and child
CPR class set
The American Red Cross, Umatilla
County chapter, will hold an infant
and child CPR class on Monday night,
April 30 from 6-9 p.m. at the chapter
office at its new location, 920 NW
Fraser, Suite 107, Pendleton. Cost
o f the course is $15.
