Orchestra and chorale to
present Christmas concert
The
Inland
Northwest
Orchestra and Chorale will
present a concert of "Christinas
Treasures" in four Eastern
Oregon communities during the
holiday season. This widely
varied program will include
selections ranging from baroque
to jazz, and from carols to
cantatas.
Featured musical offerings will
include Leroy Anderson's "Suite
of Carols" for string orchestra, a
"wonderfully rich" setting of six
traditional Christmas carols, and
J.S. Bach's "Alleluia! Sing
Praise", a sonorous chorale with
an
"exciting
orchestral
accompaniment" in the grand
baroque style. The Harris Junior
Academy Choir will join the
Inland Northwest Musicians in
the performance
of this
"Alleluia" for the concert in
Pendleton.
The performances are
scheduled for: Saturday, Dec. 9,

7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 10, Bisnett
Building, Pendleton, 3:15 p.m.;
Saturday, Dec. 16, Riverfront
Center, Boardman, 7 p.m.;

Inland Northwest Musicians is
comprised of approximately 130
singers and instrumentalists from
Eastern Oregon and Southeast
Washington. Their 2000-2001
season offers over 20 concerts in
14 Eastern Oregon communities.
Admittance to all concerts is
by membership, or tickets may
be purchased at the door - adults
are $10, and seniors, $5. Students
are always admitted free to any
concert. Memberships are still

Still time to try
out for fair
There is still time for girls to
try out for the Morrow County
Fair and Oregon Trail Rodeo
Court.
Girls who will be 16 but not
older than 21 by August 1, 2001,
interested in trying out for the
Morrow County Fair and Oregon
Trail Pro Rodeo Court are invited
to pick up an application and
turn it in.
Try-outs will be held Sunday,
Dec. 10, starting at 1 p.m.

The Morrow County Sheriff’s
Office (MCSO) reports handling
the following business:
-MCSO deputy cited Laroy
Cline, 42, for Driving while
License
Suspended
Misdemeanor. The vehicle was a
backhoe that was driven home by
a third party. The subject was
advised not to dnve it again.
-MCSO received a report from
an Imgon subject that an
unknown person stole his dog
from his yard.
-MCSO received a request to
deliver a message concerning a
relative's medical condition.
-MCSO received a report from
an Imgon subject that an
unknown person took his
chocolate lab.
-MCSO, Oregon State Police
received a report of two males
fighting on 1-84 westbound,
milepost 141. It looked like a
police vehicle was on the scene.
Oregon State Police was unable
to locate anything.
Oct. 31: MCSO‘received a
report of two rifle shots in
Lexington. The caller said cows
were going crazy. A deputy was
unable to locate anything.
-MCSO received a report of an
entry alarm at Sam Boardman
Elementary School in Boardman.
The principal was contacted and
the alarm was cancelled.
-MCSO received a report of a
dog getting loose and the owner
didn't know where it went. The
dog was the same dog that
chased children at the grade
school the previous day. The
owner was going to look for it,
but wanted to advise MCSO
about it.
-Oregon State Police received a
report of a logging truck that
tipped its trailer on its side and
dumped logs all over the 1-84
eastbound on-ramp at Patterson
Ferry. It was a non-injury,
blocking accident.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy contact because a
subject was harassing the caller
and tyad entered her apt. in lone,
leaving her notes.
-MCSO received a report of a
medium-sized black dog seen for
the last three days at the entrance
to the Naval facility tower road
south of 1-84.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a request for an officer from
Central Red Apple Market in
Heppner for a non-sufficient
funds check.
-MCSO received a request for

depts. received a report of a fire
in the boys' restroom at Riverside
High School. The students were
evacuated.
-MCSO received a request for

deputy
concerning
an
interview.
-MCSO received a report of a
wolf-cross at Wagon Wheel
Loop that was being neglected.
-MCSO deputy arrested a
Heppner subject on a Morrow
County Circuit Court warrant for
Possession of a Controlled
Substance II. The subject was
lodged at the Umatilla County
Jail with $20,000 bail.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy for an assault with
alcohol involved. One subject
was transported to Umatilla
County Jail on Benton County
and Prosser warrants. A stalking
order complaint was also signed
by the complainant.
-MCSO received a report of a
semi driving erratically and
traveling at high rates of speed
on 1-84 eastbound.
November 3: MCSO
received report of a subject
arrested by the Bent team and
charged with Possession of a
Controlled Substance II. Subject
was lodged at Umatilla County
Jail with $6,000 bail.

Police
Department received report of a
burglary at Pettyjohn's with
someone breaking out a back
window to the store. It was
unknown if the suspect was still
inside.
-MCSO, Oregon State
Police received report that an
Irrigon woman advised that there
was an elderly male in 70's that
has wandered to her house and
was sitting in her car. She said
she had never seen him before
and he was very disoriented and
thinks that he lives at her house.
-MCSO received report
of several cows out in Irrigon.
-HPD received request
for traffic control on Main in
Heppner in front of the Chevron
station due to traffic back up of
hunters.
-MCSO received a 911
hang up call in Irrigon. All was
okay.
-MCSO received report
of a car racing up and down Paul
Smith Road, Boardman.
-MCSO received report
of a vehicle hit and run in
Irrigon.
-MCSO received request
for deputy.
-MCSO received request
for deputy in Irrigon regarding
caller's mother who was in an
abusive relationship.
-MCSO received request
for deputy in Irrigon regarding a
noise complaint against a subject
who was working on cars late at
night and engines were very
loud.
-MCSO received report
of a 911 hang up call. On call
back, a nine-year-old male
advised he did not call but was
home alone.
-HPD reedved report of
a dog bite in Heppner. The
victim will seek treatment on his
own and no ambulance was
needed.

received a report of an intrusion
alarm.
It
was
furnace
decorations.
-MCSO received a report of a
car egged in Imgon the previous
night.
-MCSO received a report of a
cow out near 1-84 just east of the
Port of Morrow exit.
-MCSO received a report of
threatening phone calls in
Boardman.
-Heppner ambulance and lone
QRT received a request for an
ambulance for a female who had
fallen off a horse and possibly
dislocated her arm. No transport
was made.
-Heppner ambulance received a
request for an ambulance at lone
High School for a 15-year-old
student who had taken a drug and
was vomiting and had dilated
eyes. The patient was transported
to Pioneer Memorial Hospital in
Heppner.
-MCSO reported that a subject
came into the sheriffs office
requesting assistance to remove a
set of handcuffs. The handcuffs
were successfully removed and
no medical assistance was
needed.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy concerning a dog
complaint in Imgon.
-Wheeler County Sheriffs
Office received a report from a
subject who said while going into
Fossil he witnessed a yellow
pickup pull over and a young
man "dragged out and buried a
human body." Wheeler County
advised it was a dog carcass.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a report of a red mountain bike
located behind the Bank of
Eastern Oregon near the garbage
dumpsters. The bike had been
there all day and no one in the
bank claimed it.
-Imgon Fire Dept, received a
report of a bum barrel burning
with a lot of debris surrounding
it.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a report from a subject that
people were after him, chased
him home and grabbed him while
he was in his mother's driveway.
The subject said he was able to
get away and retreat to his
mother's house, but they were
waiting for him next door at a
residence.
-MCSO received a report from
a Lexington subject that her
brother-in-law left his Cecil
residence at 6:30 p.m. enroute to
an lone Fire Dept, meeting and
had not shown up. The subject
was
located
outside of
Lexington. There was no
accident and no medical attention
was needed.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy in lone for a subject at
the caller's residence who was
destroying the place and
throwing things at him.
-Oregon State Police received a
report of a suspicious female
along the road sitting next to a
large road sign.
-MCSO received a report of a
horse with a halter and lead rope
running around the streets of
Irrigon. There was no deputy in
position, no Oregon State Police
trooper was available and the
owner could not be found.

had been crossing the property
lines into his property and he had
been advised not to do so. The

contact with the subject and
advise him of the charges that
could be pressed against him.

received a report of a stolen self-
propelled red lawnmower last
seen at Lamb-Weston in the back
of a truck.
-MCSO received a report of a
stolen vehicle which belonged to
a Eugene address. Dneta
Burdick, 20, was arrested for
Theft I and lodged at NORCOR.
The vehicle was towed.
-Boardman Police Dept,
received a 911 call from a
Boardman residence. Upon a
call-back, a female caller advised
she was fighting with her sister,
but it had calmed down.
-Heppner Police Dept, received
a request to contact a subject for
a vehicle located in an irrigation
ditch in Echo.
-MCSO received a report from
a subject that he would be
helping with the removal of an
evicted woman's trailer the first
thing in the morning and would
attempt to contact the manager.
-MCSO received a report of a
non-sufficient funds check at
Blaze Heating and Cooling in
Irrigon.
-MCSO received a request for
a deputy concerning a restraining
order.
-Boardman Police Dept,
received a report of several
horses out on Laurel Lane near
the Port of Morrow.
-Oregon State Police received a
report that a vehicle on Highway
97 was swerving and ran off the
road several times.
-MCSO received a report of a
suspicious vehicle in Irrigon that
turned its lights off.
-MCSO received a report of a
loud bang, then someone leaving
and reentering A.C. Houghton
Elementary School in Irrigon.
-MCSO deputy arrested Brian
Burnside, 20, Heppner, for
Failure to Appear/Cnminal
Mischief I and II. He was lodged
at Umatilla County Jail with no
bail.
-MCSO deputy cited Todd
Snyder, 29, Imgon, for Criminal
Trespass II. The subject was
cited and released.
-MCSO received a report of
paint balls shot at doors of
Columbia Middle School in
Irrigon.
-Boardman Police Dept,
received a report from a woman
that her ex-husband was
bothering her at a Boardman
motel and causing problems with
visitation of their children.
-MCSO received a report of
more paint balls shot at doors at
A.C. Houghton Elementary
School in Irrigon.
Nov. 1: MCSO received a
report of trespassing at the
Boardman 76 station.
-MCSO deputy cited Kent
Cate, 32, for Criminal Trespass
