In June of 2000, the Main
Street Banner committee, a sub
committee o f Chamber, sent out
letters outlining a plan for banners
for Main Street. Great community
response resulted in a Grand Total
in donations of $2,550. The
committee settled on the banners
that are being hung this week.
They decided on this banner to
coordinate with the City Logo and
the Main Street intersection. The
Welcome extends Heppner’s
feelings toward visitors and
residents as well. These banners
cost a total of $ 1,540. This leaves
a balance of $1,010 in the fund.
With the remaining funds we have
chosen to purchase a Christmas
Wreath; we hope to have it
hanging by Christmas. Hopefully
by the next Christmas season,
support will allow us to have a
wreaths for each lamp post.
