Nos. 14 Principal Mike Stuart gave the welcome and announced Shelby Krebs as the state winner in the 2000 Wendy’s High School Heisman Program based on scholarship. athletics and citizenship. As a state winner Krebs received a silver medal and S500 for lone High School, lone senior Korev Morgan received a bronze medal for placing in the top 10 state wide. Volleyball coach Charity McElligott gave out volleyball awards and letters. Most Improved Players for the year were Tracy Griffith and Kristina Powell. Teammates voted Shelby Krebs. Most Inspirational, and Diana McElligott. Most Valuable Player The lone football team finished tied for 11th in the state. Coach Dale Holland recapped the highlights of the season and gave out letters and awards. The Most Improved Player was John Collin. The award for the hardest hits went to Adam Neiffer Cory Bennetto was voted Most Inspirational Player and Korev Morgan. Most Valuable Player, by their teammates. Senior Brooks Rea was selected as first team defensive back and junior Adam Neiffer was picked for the first team defensive line. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended, with 24 months probation, and ordered to complete an alcohol package with Morrow County Behavioral Health and pay $934 in fines, fees and assessments. Hugo Albert Pacheco-Mendoza plead guilty to Menacing and Harassment. Smouse, 89, lone, died Sunday, November 19, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, at 11 a m. at the lone United Church of Christ. Marian Murchison, co-manager of the St. Patrick's Senior Apartments in Heppner, helps Pendleton artist Michael Booth hang a new painting in the apartment lobby. Booth, a BMCC art professor who created the cattle drive sculptures coming into Pendleton, the Mustang mural in the Heppner High School gym, as well as other works of art, donated the painting to the senior apartments. The painting is of a young girl sitting next to a tilling disk.
