Gore leads assault on heritage
To the Editor:
The national and constitutional
crisis over our presidential
election is a perfect illustration
of a nation divided against itself.
Governor Bush won the election
with the electorial votes of
Florida. He won the recount in
Florida. He won the absentee
ballots and, had the Florida
Supreme Court not intervened at
the request of the Gore
campaign. George Bush would
have been certified President of
the United States on Saturday,
Nov. 18.
The national crisis has been
caused solely by the actions of
the Gore campaign to use the
courts to deny Bush's presidential
victorious vote.
Nothing in American history
could illustrate more graphically
the direction of modem-day
libera! Democrats. An A1 Gere,
Bill Clinton liberal Democrat
accomplishes their goals by
spinning
dishonest
and
disingenuous actions with the
orchestrated support of the media
and press. When that strategy
fails, they turn to activist judges
and courts that legislate new laws
instead
of
upholding
Constitutional standards.
The Democratic party under
Gore and Clinton will use
character assassination to destroy
any public official that stands in
its way to power, i.e. Kathem
Hams. The democratic press has
assailed Kathem Harris because
she used $100,000 of taxpayer
money for travel, yet the same
press was silent when Hillary
Clinton used 20 times that sum
of taxpayer money for her
Marriage Licenses

office at the courthouse in

Stanger, 18, Boardman; and
Ashley Paige Crowell, 17,
Boardman.
Nov 14-Mano Gabriel Pach

Happy Thanksgiving to one
and all. May each enjoy the
holiday and take time to give
thanks for blessings bestowed
and to bless those who are having
some struggles as they cope with,
learn from and give their all to
life. And just one additional
request for which we all will be
thankful... let us know who the
President is soon.
While you are resting, relaxing
and enjoying turkey day, think
about your Light Parade creation.
String those lights on cars,
pickups, trucks, bodies, whatever
and join in the Light Parade on
Thursday, Nov. 30. Prizes of
$200, $150, $100 and $50 will be
awarded by the audience this
year Businesses and individuals
are encouraged to enter. Out-of-
town entries are welcome.
A ballot box disguised as a
package beneath the Christmas
Tree will be awaiting your vote.
Entries in the parade will go
through twice, giving young and
old an opportunity to view each
one. Participants will also be
asked to drive past the nursing
home following the parade.
Entry forms are available at
Central Red Apple Market, Bank
o f Eastern Oregon, Heppner
Chamber of Commerce and the
Heppner Gazette-Times.
Join in the fun and the spirit of
giving as you put sparkle in the
eyes of young and old alike.
The Lutheran Church is again
bringing the Nativity scene to
town complete with llamas,
sheep, cattle, a donkey, etc. Stroll
the Heppner businesses, enjoy
goodies, hear the band and choir
and visit with friends in the
Willow Creek Valley and
beyond. It's another Heppner
Happening.
And yet another thought to
ponder on. It's time to remember
that person in your life who
seems to always go the extra
mile
without
thought
of
recognition. You know them.
They are all around you on the
street, in church, in school, at
work, in organizations, helping
others, making things happen,
pitching in on projects, etc.
Surprise them and nominate
them for Man, Woman, Youth,
Educator, or Business of the
Year. Do it today. Town and
Country is scheduled for January
11 .

campaign in New York.
The Gore Democrats claim
they stand for the will of the
people and the principle that
every vote must be counted,
unless, of course, those votes
happened to be absentee ballots
from America's servicemen that
predominantly support Bush.
Presidential candidate George
Bush has handled himself with
dignity in the face of a naked
assault by A1 Gore and the
Democratic party to steal the
election. Were George Bush to
attempt what A1 Gore has thus
far accomplished in tearing down
the foundation of our Republic,
he would have been buried under
a hostile liberal press that has
learned to call evil good and
good evil.
If the Gore campaign already
has targeted members to the
electoral college to destroy and
bribe to steal the election, would
not the press in a Gore
presidency be censored when
they finally expose Gore's
tyranny?
Wake up America. A1 Gore
and his liberal cohorts will not
yield their assault on America's
heritage until they have stolen
the presidency. Is our life so dear
or our party affiliation so fixed
that we would sacrifice our
heritage by standing silently by
and allowing this outrage to
continue? Speak out. If this
nation allows the Democratic
party to steal this election, our
Republic under God is over and
all the blessing God has rained
upon America will surely end.
