Local music lovers will soon
get an opportunity to not only
enjoy an afternoon of unusual
chamber ensembles, but they will
also get a chance to tempt their
taste buds on an unusual array of
English and American tea. As if
this were not enough, a delicious
and delicate menu of homemade
cookies, along with an intricate
assortment o f petite sandwiches
will tempt the pallet.
All o f this is being offered at
the St. Patrick's Senior Center, on
Sunday, Sept. 17, between the
hours of 2-4 p.m. Funds raised
will go to help promote the
Willow Creek Symphony, which
is under the direction of

"Lovers of violin music will
enjoy the artistry o f Frieze who
will also be featured as one of the
guest artists that afternoon," said

The 100 high tea settings will
be served by members o f the
local symphony with intermittent

talents,

outstanding young performers of
local residency.
This musical event is sponsored
by Valby Lutheran Church, along
with insurance carrier Aid
Association for Lutherans. The
insurance carrier has pledged to
double any proceeds from the
occasion up to $800 dollars.
Tickets for the high tea are
now on sale at Gardner's Men's
Wear in Heppner and the Bank of
Eastern Oregon in lone. For

There will be a limit of 100
settings for the occasion. Friends
o f the symphony from Boardman
and Irrigon are especially invited
to attend the occasion, said the
spokesperson.
Colt volleyball startup planned
Colt volleyball for children in
third through sixth grades is
coming to
South Morrow
County.
The program will go from Sept.
15 to Oct. 15 with games on
Sundays and practices on
Fridays.
A practice session will be held
on Friday, Sept. 15, to determine
the teams. Gym shoes and knee
pads are required for all practices
and games.
The program is in need of
volunteer coaches, an adult and
high school volleyball player per
team, to make it program
successful, said organizer Missy
Cutsforth.
Registration and release forms
will be available at the
elementary school office. The
