kitchen in the Morrow County
Fair Pavilion and enjoy a piece of
pie.

Club will offer two items for
your enjoyment, taco salad and
baked potatoes. The service club
will also be in the pavilion
kitchen starting at 4 p.m. each
day.
A slice of ice cold watermelon
on a hot day would hit the spot,
according to the Heppner senior
citizens. The seniors will also
have cool, old-fashioned root-

Pickles are going to be the talk
of the Oregon State Fair.
A quart jar of cucumber pickles
will bring $250 cash and fame to
one county Friday, Sept. 1, as
Stemfeld's Products Co. holds its
all-state Great Pickle Contest at
the Oregon State Fair.
State entries will be selected
from the best pickle in each
county for this event. No other
pickle entries will be included in
Steinfeld's State Fair event for
this all-county competition.
Morrow County’s best pickle
will be selected from all open
class pickle entries which include
cucumbers, packed in a quart jar.
Each county winner submitted
to the state fair must be
accompanied by the recipe.
So, pick a peck of pickles and
pick out your favorite jar of
pickles; bring them to the fair on
Monday, Aug. 14 and maybe you
will be the lucky winner of $250
on September 1.
The local winner will also
receive a celebration pack of
Steinfeld's
products
and
admission to the Oregon State
Fair.
