Fair awards program planned Aug. 19
Murrays to sponsor quartet and wine tasting
Do you ever feel there is too
much emphasis placed on what is
wrong with youth today? Here is
your chance to see what is great
about Morrow County youth —
attend the Morrow County Fair
Awards Program, Saturday,
August 19, at 4:30 p.m. in the
Wilkinson Arena.
The Awards Program is a must
for 4-H and FFA youth, parents
and leaders and anyone who
enjoys young people.
All fair categories are
recognized at the Awards
Program, 4-H , open class, and
FFA.
It is always fun to see older
youth receive the traditional
"Grand
Champion"
and
"Outstanding ...." awards. But is
also fun to see younger members
The Morrow County Fair
invites everyone to come see the
talent of the quartet, "Absolutely
Nobody Quartet" featuring local
singer Joe Lindsay, on Thursday,
Aug. 17, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
during Murray's-Country Rose
wine and micro-brew beer
tasting.
receive the "Champion Junior
Cookie Maker" or "Most
Enthusiastic Beginner Livestock
Member" awards.
Most awards are purchased by
the Morrow County 4-H Leaders
Council with funds raised by
volunteers through the donor
campaign or Snack Shack
operation. These awards are
separate from fair premium
awards.
Every youth who completes
project requirements, registers
for fair on time and competes is a
winner.
Encourage family, neighbors,
and friends of 4-H members to
attend the awards program and
congratulate youth for their
participation in the Morrow
County Fair.

spitting contest
People of all ages, start
practicing
spitting
those
watermelon seeds, then come
join the fun at the Morrow
County Fair on Thursday, Aug.
17, at 4 p.m. for the annual
watermelon seed spitting contest.
The contest, sponsored by the
Hermiston Watermelon Growers,
has T-shirts that will be awarded
to the winners in each age
category (men's, women's, youth
8-15 and children under eight
years).
Sign up for the contest before it
starts in the grass by the beef
bam.

Talent show is for all to enjoy
The Morrow County Fair talent
show, set for Friday, August 18,
from 7-9:30 p.m., is an event for
the whole family to enjoy. There
is always an assortment of talents
ranging from singing, dancing
and gymnastics, all the way to
poetry readings. It is a lot of fun
for the audience and contestants
alike. This year there is sure to
