History will be made at the
East-West 2000 game in Baker
City on August 12 when Odin
Miller of Union presents himself
on the field. So, what's so special
about that? Odin will be the first
Shnner in the history of the East-
West ever to play in the Shrine
game.
Odin, a 3.95 gpa. graduate of
Union High School, received his
Master Mason degree on July 15.
On July 22 he became a 32°
Scottish Rite Mason and on the
same day the obligations of the
Shnne were conferred upon him.
Odin's father, Ed Miller, played
in the East-West game in 1962,
also representing Union High
School and has since received his
Masonic
Degrees.
Odin's
grandfather, the original Odm
Miller, is a Shriner of long
standing.
Odin's head football coach,
Wayne Herron, has received his
Masonic degrees and is looking
forward to becoming a Shriner.
Herron played in the East-West
game in 1979 and coached the
West Team in 1998,
Jim Taylor, principal of Union
High School, has also played in
the Montana Shrine Football
Game. Taylor is a Master Mason
with his Shrine affiliation forth
coming.
Mike Wood of Union,
superintendent of Union High
School, has received his degrees
in Masonry. Wood coached the
East Team in 1987.
