The old Kinzua box car gets a lift to its new home
The box car that sat at the
Kinzua office lot for many years
has a new home, thanks to
Kinzua Resources, who donated
it to the Morrow County
Museum.
The box car made its
precarious move with the help of
Guy Van Arsdale and crew.
Miller and Sons and crew and
Museum Commissioners Ken
Nelson and Bob Ham son.
The box car was a work car for
Kinzua and is one of the first box
cars made. It has a wooden frame
like the ones that came into
Heppner on the very first rail.
The box care needs a little
repair to make it look as good as
new and the museum is asking
for volunteers interested in
preserving it as close as possible
to its original condition.
Anyone interested in this
project should contact Marsha
Sweek or one of the museum
commissioners.
