By Sandi Day The Morrow County Gun Club (MCGC) held their first shoot of the new millennium on a cold and windy Sunday afternoon. A hot lunch was provided by Deona Hodges and Sandi Day to keep the shooters warm. A meeting was held to elect new officers and hear the treasurer’s report for 1999. Curt Day was elected as the new presi dent; Kelwayne Haguewood was retained as secretary/treasurer; and Harvey Childers and Dennis Wall were chosen as new direc tors, joining Mick Sharp. The board elected to keep the membership dues the same as last year which wil 1 be $ 10 for a single membership and $ 15 for a family membership for NRA members, and $20 for a single or $25 for a family for non-NRA members. MCGC members also decided to return to a league-form of shooting to begin on the first weekend of February. A list of rules will be given in next week’s G-T. Due to bad weather, only a 16 yard shoot was held, with first going to Jeff Cutsforth, second to Curt Day and third to Harvey Childers. Junior shooters Brian Hague- wood, Cody Ford-Day and Bran don Davis also posted scores as did shooter Deona Hodges with a new shotgun. The MCGC will hold their next shoot on Sunday, Jan. 16 at noon at the club in Lexington.
