The win improved the Mustangs' pre­ season record to 7-4 with just one more game before the Columbia Basin Conference begins Friday, Jan.7, in Pilot Rock. The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Mustangs got a basket from San Juanita Elguezabal, two straight from Casey Ingraham and a three- pointer from Ashley Ropp to take a 9-3 lead. Two free throws from Ingraham and a rebound basket from Shelley Rietmann increased the lead to 3-5. Rebound baskets by Lacey Matteson and Amy Papineau gave the Mustangs a 17-7 lead at the end o f the first Sheriff's Report The Morrow County Sheriff s Office (MCSO) reports handling the following business: Dec. 15: MCSO deputy ar­ rested Billie Charles Kimbcrlin, 29, Irrigon, on an Imgon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Appear/ Driving while License Suspended, and a Heppner Justice Court war­ rant for Failure to Pay Fine/ Harrassment. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. . MCSO received a request for a w elfare check on a Sam Boardman Elementary student. Oregon State Police received a report of an erratic driver on I- 84 who was speeding and cutting people off. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a malejuvenile check­ ing doors to residences on Jones Street. MCSO received a report of a fire on Highway 74 milepost 13. It was a controlled bum. MCSO received a report of a verbal domestic dispute in Irrigon in the couple’s front yard. Hfppnef Police Dept, received a report of 4-5 boys plotting some­ quarter. A basket by Rietmann, another three-pointer by Ropp and two free throws by Papineau increased the lead to 24-7 to start the second quarter. Trisha Adams added a rebound basket as the Mustangs took a 28-12 lead at halftime. Rietmann and Adams combined for nine of the first 11 points of the third quarter as the Mustangs blew open the game, taking a 39- 12 lead. Two free throws by Rietmann. and a long jumper and a rebound basket by Ingraham made it 45-13 and a jumper by Matteson made it 47-15 at halftime. The Mustangs' only points of the fourth quarter were baskets by Jodie Carlson and Meghan Bailey as the Mustangs coasted to the 51-30 win. Ingraham had a fine all-around thing. They left in an older ma­ roon Ford. MCSO received a report o f a domestic dispute in progress with the male subject hitting the female subject. John Joseph Homer, Jr., 53, was arrested for two counts of Contempt of Court. Boardman Police Dept, re­ ceived a report o f four youths hanging around the Park Plaza A partm ents, laundrom at and bank, and acting suspiciously. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for a welfare check from a man concerning his uncle in Heppner since he had a busy sig­ nal for two days. The phone was off the hook. Dec. 16: MCSO received a report o f someone in a pickup spotlighting. Imgon ambulance received a report of a child who had taken a lot of medicine. EMTs were re­ quested. MCSO received a report o f two black dogs one mile west of Boardman on 1-84. An officer was unable to locate anything. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with $5,000 bail. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for an officer concern­ ing a family disturbance. Boardman Police Dept, re­ ceived a report from a woman that her son-in-law is threatening her daughter. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a possible broken win­ dow in a Jetta in Heppner. The vehicle was okay. Dec. 17: Im gon ambulance received a request for an ambu­ lance for a 97 year old female with chest pains. One patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston. 4-H;News The Martingales On December 19 the Martingale 4-H Club went Christmas caroling. Gene Westberg, Ross Westberg and Joe Yocom brought their teams and wagons and took about 30 4-H'ers, family members and friends riding up and down the streets of lone. After the caroling they all went back to the lone Fire Hall for popcorn and hot drinks. Everyone there agreed it was a lot o f fun. Gene, Ross and Joe took the time to make the Christmas party a memorable one. Elks scholarship applications available The Elks "Most Valuable S tu d e n t S c h o la r s h ip " applications are now available from the school counselors at Heppner High School and lone High School. Gifts from the community: Heppner Day Care kids unwrap Christmas presents last week that were gifts of needed items from the community. A rock had been thrown and was found on the floor. MCSO, Heppner Fire Dept, received a report of a house on fire. The house was on the edge of the fire district. MCSO received a report of dogs barking and a prowler around a car. A deputy was unable to lo­ cate anyone. Boardman Police Dept, re­ ceived a report of a semi and pickup accident. No injuries oc­ curred. The semi had moved the pickup about five feet. MCSO received a request for a gun for a coyote on Highway 74. The caller was given the num­ ber for the Morrow County trap­ per. Everyone was okay and all the phones were hung up but the line was still busy. An officer was un­ able to locate the problem. MCSO. Boardm an Police Dept, received a report of some­ one trying to get in a Boardman residence. A deputy was unable to locate anyone. MCSO received a report of a tool box stolen in Boardman. Heppner ambulance and lone EMTs received a report of a 58 year old woman who fell off a trailer. The woman, who was con­ scious, was transported. MCSO received a report of cattle out on Highway 207. MCSO, Oregon State Police, Irrigon ambulance received a re­ port of a two-vehicle accident at Highway 730 and the county line. One female patient was trans­ ported to Good Shepherd Commu­ nity Hospital in Hermiston. MCSO received a report of a pickup on the wrong side of the road with no lights on.
