Lexington Grange elects officers
NOTICE OF HEARING
The Morrow County Court will
hold a public hearing at 10:30 a m
on Wednesday, November 3.
1999. at the Morrow County
Courthouse. 100 Court Street.
Heppner Oregon to hear public
comment upon the issue of an
nexation of territory into the
Boardman Rural Fire Protection
District. The territory proposed to
be annexed takes in most of the
property from Bombing Range
Road to Poleline Road and from
the intersection o f Homestead
Road South six miles along Bomb
ing Range Road. Landowners
petitioning for annexation are Rob
ert Mueller, PS III Farms, Potlatch
Corporation, and Cascade Spe
cialties.
Legal descriptions of the par
cels of territory to be annexed are
on file with the Morrow County
Clerk and are available upon re
quest.
Any person may appear and be
heard.

Thursday evening for the regular
meeting with the Noble Grand
Marlene Gray in the chair.
Ill members and friends were
remembered with cards and
letters.
Plans were made for the next
three months, including a
potluck Thanksgiving party and
a Christmas exchange and
dinner, with food and other
articles for the Neighborhood
Center.
Refreshments were served.
The next card party will be

A little late, but still thought
of! The Heppner DayCare, Inc.
Board and Staff would like to
thank many people for their gen
erosity towards the Center. As the
Morrow County Fair and Rodeo
arrives, everyone in the commu
nity sheds blood, sweat and tears.
We all feel overwhelmed but still
anxiously await for the week to
get here.
Asking for someone’s time is
easy. Asking for donations is
scary. Yet every year, the busi
nesses in our community are
bombarded with the question,
“Would you donate...?” I was
very fortunate to receive the do
nations for the DayCare Bingo
game. We made $70 and accepted
it towards our preschool supplies.
The following people and their
donations were: Lube and Oil
Service valued at $40, Brannon’s
Auto Repair; four single $5 gift
certificates, Peterson’s Jewelers;
$5 gift certificate, G ardner’s
M en’s Wear; Wampus burger
certificate and large milkshake
dertificate; R&W Drive-In; two-
day pass, Morrow County Fair
Board; M ikasa vase, LaRae
Kindle; 20 hours of child care,
Heppner DayCare, two games
and puzzle. Air Supply CD,
anonymous. A big thank you to
Lucinda Clement for taking over
and organizing the Bingo game
at the last minute. And to Corol
Mitchell and St. Patrick’s Senior
Center for letting us borrow your
Bingo game.
This year the Heppner Lions
Club gave the DayCare .25«! for
every rodeo program we sold and
the Rodeo Club gave .50tf. We
made a total of $302.25 that will
go towards our preschool pro
gram. The Rodeo Board in the
past years has been kind to give
us their support and loyalty in giv
ing the proceeds to the Center.
You, the community, visitors
and travelers, enter the Fair and
Rodeo by acknowledging the
bright, smiling, energetic faces at
the main gate. For the last four
years I have managed the gate and
lots of you now know me by name
or face, if you don’t already. Ei
ther you smile at me and go on
by or you scowl and pay your $2
a day. Well, guess what? I’m not
leaving and either is my crew that
supports the DayCare. I love ev
eryone of you people and you
make it a challenge every year.
Thanks for keeping me on my
toes. The faces you greet for four
days belong to these people: Kim

To the Morrow County Fair
Board, you have given me the gift
of giving (bless your hearts for the
dirt and the complainers). I feel
lucky to be able to receive the gift
that you have given to me the last
four years. The com m unity
should know that you are such
supporters to the community. The
board gives to myself a sum of
money. The first year I received
$400 to our local summer pro
gram involving the Neighborhood
Center. The last two years 1 had a
son in Heppner Preschool and
chose to give the center the funds.
One year it was $400, the other
$600. This last August, I received
a shocking $750. Wow! This is
given to the Heppner DayCare,
Inc. The board let me choose what
organization I plan to give the
money to and as the director of
the Heppner DayCare. I chose the
Center. We are a non-profit or
ganization. Nothing comes real
easy for us. Thanks for giving me
this opportunity to help you and
the community’s child care cen
ter.
To all the above people, thank
you for our hearts at the Center.
You truly are remarkable and will
always be part of the Center. You
graciously give of yourself and
continue to do so. What a great
group of people that I have been
