Colts rip Les Schwab team 26-0

Numerous Individuals from south Morrow County participated in the Race for the Cure held September 19
in Portland. The annual walk-run raises funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Local

second match to Sherman County
0-15,13-15. Sherman County had
a well rounded team and
dominated the Cardinals from the
Cardinals to find the needed spark
to give the Huskies a fight.
The Cardinals had a better match
the second game, losing only by
two points.
The Lady Cardinals squared up
with Heppner JV on their final
match o f the day, losing 9-15, 11-
15.
Diana McElligott played tough
throughout
the
tournament,
leading the team in spikes and
serves. Adrienne Swanson did an
exemplary job o f setting the ball to
the hitters, covering under the
block and getting her serves to
count. Kristen Davidson and
Cyndi
Heagy both did a
noteworthy role at the net.

2-0 on the y ear by beating a much
bigger Umatilla team. 34-0. on
Friday. Sept. 24. at Heppner

48 yard run by Elguezabal and a
pass to Justin Botefuhr good for
33 yards set up a two y ard run by

The Heppner Colts moved to
2-0 on the season by defeating the
visiting Les Schwab team from
Hermiston. 26-0. during a wel
come rainstorm
The Colts' suffocating defense
got four turnovers and didn't al
low the Les Schwab team to get
inside their 30 y ard line all game.

The Morrow County Health
District will hold a special board
meeting this Thursday, September
30, at 7 p.m. at the Pioneer
Memorial Hospital Conference
Room in Heppner.
The meeting will include an
administrator's report by Sheila
Dahlman. interim administrator.
This meeting will be Dahlman's
last with the district as she has
submitted her resignation.
Newly appointed administrator,
Victor Vander Does is now on
board.
The board's next regular meeting
will be Monday, October 4. at 7
p.m. at the Boardman Ambulance
Hall.
The October meeting will
include a proposal fro Ken Roberts
for
the
proposed
hospital
remodel/expansion. among other
business.

individuals who plan to sell at the
flea market October 8-9 at the St.
Patrick Senior Center promise to
make it a successful and fun event,
said a Senior Center spokesperson.
The market will offer
miscellaneous small objects,
pictures and frames, bulbs, plants,
floral containers, home-baked
foods, tools, kitchen ware, toys.
mirrors, bedding ware, lamps,
some clothing, appliances, art
objects, silver, antiques and "much
more" for sale.
The market is sponsored by the
Senior Center, enabling local
organizations to raise funds for
their favorite projects. A few table
spaces are still available.
