Humphrey will begin October 1

information officer is responsible
for emergency preparedness
public education, for Umatilla
County residents living near the

planning a Heritage Trail celebra­
tion on Sunday. Oct 17 to com­
memorate the anniversary of the
day in 1805 when the Corps of
Discovery passed the Morrow
County border
A pie social will be held so
guests are invited to bring pump-
kin or apple pie
The Boardman Library will
soon plant a tree in front of the
new library . The Morrow County
Columbia River Heritage Trail will
pass directly in front of the new
library Old time musicians will
perform at the celebration and

Rhea Creek Social
Club holds meeting
The Rhea Creek Social Club
met at the home of Beverly Wright
for their first meeting of the sea­
son.
A program on the best ways to
take care of house plants was pre­
sented by Sherrie Kopaez of
Kopaez Nursery. Kopaez an­
swered many of the group's ques­
tions.
Marlene Peterson conducted
the m eeting. Jean Ball was
elected chairman, Beverly Wright,
vice-chairm an and Jeanette
Padberg, secretary/treasurcr.
Eleven members were present. A
potluck lunch was enjoyed by all.
The group’s next meeting w ill
be held at Betty Carlson's home

BMCC classes scheduled in lone

pickup that was stolen in lrrigon.

shots fired in lrrigon. It turned out
that someone was hunting musk­
rats.

someone out of control and beat­
ing his dog in Lexington.
Heppner ambulance received
a report of a 77 year old male who
had fallen. The subject, who was
conscious but bleeding from his
head, refused transport.

mean dog in lrrigon that threat­
ened to bite.
MCSO received additional in­
formation on a vehicle stolen the

MCGG dinner
The Willows Grange women’s
activities group met at the hall on
Friday. Sept. 10.
The group was asked to do the
MCGG dinner again this year,
which will be held No\ 1.
In other business, it was de­
cided the group's annual turkey
dinner will be held on Nov. 14.

ter Board has planned a local flea
market for Oct. 8-9.
“We are offering this as an op­
portunity for local organizations,

Medic 14 received a request for
an ambulance for a 51 year old
man w ho had been out in the heat
all day and was suffering from
severe muscle cramps all over his
body and was very agitated. He
refused transport.

Medic 3. 15, received a request
for an ambulance for a 96 year
old male with a faint pulse, shal­
low respiration and who was un­
responsive to sound He started
to talk but was incoherent. The
patient was transported to Pioneer
Memorial Hospital in Heppner.

Dept, received a report of a car
stereo stolen in Boardman. The
caller believed the suspect was on
tape.
MCSO received a report that
a 1980 Dodge flatbed pickup w as
stolen and a 1976 Toyota Corolla
left. The truck was recovered by
the O regon State Police at
Meacham.
MCSO received a report of
loud music in Imgon.
Aug. 20: Umatilla Police Dept,
arrested Herbert William Hill, 20,
on an Imgon Justice Court war­
rant for Driving while License
Suspended misdemeanor. Hill
was lodged the UCSOjail
MCSO, Heppner Police Dept,
arrested Jason Allan Bathurst, 23,
for A ttem pting to Elude (C-
felony), DUII with blood alcohol
content of .08, and Driving while
License Suspended misdemeanor.
Bathurst was lodged at the UCSO
jail.
MCSO deputy arrested Jacob
Leon Kinsey, 20, for Unauthorized
Use of a Motor Vehicle. Kinsey
was cited and released.
MCSO received a request from
the Hermiston Police Dept, for
contact with an Imgon subject. A
deputy was unable to locate the
subject.
Heppner Police Dept, received
a report that- ¿'subject had been-
refused to-buy alcohol at'tfie Red
Apple and who went to the mini­
mart and bought it. The subject
had several juveniles in his rig.
MCSO deputy arrested Vemon
Eugene Johnson, 39, at the Mor­
row County Fairgrounds for Driv­
ing while License Suspended/
Felony and Driving Uninsured. He
was cited and released.
MCSO received a report of
two cows out on Highway 74,
approximately four miles from the
fairgrounds.
Boardman Police Dept, re­
ceived a report of threejuveniles
who had tried to steal items from
a camp at the Boardman Park and
Marina. The caller said they were
holding the juveniles’ bikes as ran­
som.
MCSO received a report of an
alarm at the Imgon Post Office.
The building was secure with no
sign of a break-in, although a door
was open. The alarm could not be
reset until the next day.
Heppner Police Dept, received
a report of a subject who was
asked to leave the Elks but would
not.
MCSO received a request for
an officer contact concerning
abuse that occurred in lrrigon a
few days previous.
MCSO received a request for
an officer concerning possible
child neglect in Imgon.
MCSO received a request for
a marine deputy to do a boat in­
spection in Boardman.
MCSO, Heppner ambulance
received a report of a motor ve­
hicle accident on Highway 74 at
Sandhollow. MCSO deputy ar­
rested Steven Thomas Doss, 33,
for DUII. He blew a .23. His ve­
hicle was impounded and towed.

false alarm.

pute in a vehicle parked at the
SBE parking lot.

fire alarm set off by mistake at
the Heppner High School.

a report of a possible DUII on I-

son at the BP station at 12:51 am .

ceived a report of a motion de­
tector alarm in the lobby o f the
BEO in Boardman. The cleaning
lady entered the wrong code.

a request from a man seeking a
schoolmate in the Heppner area.
Boardman Police Dept, re­
ceived a report of a continuing
problem with a barking dog in
Boardman.
MCSO received a request for
a deputy from a woman vyho said
her ex-boyfriend won’t give her
possessions back.
MCSO received a report of a
refrigerator and dishwasher sto­
len from a home at Columbia
Homes on Highway 730 in lrrigon.
MCSO received a report o f a
semi turned crossways that was
blocking both lanes of traffic on
Highway 207 one mile north of
Lexington.
Boardman Police Dept, re­
ceived a report of a subject with
a possible warrant out for him who
was seen in Boardman.
MCSO received a request for
a deputy concerning a person with
a restraining order wanting to pick
up her stuff in Lexington.
Boardman Police Dept, re­
ceived a report of a possible open
container and loud music.
MCSO received a report of a
car in the ditch at the Heppner
Elementary School near the fair­
grounds.
MCSO received a request from
a woman for an officer concern­
ing her daughter. She was put in
touch with Morrow County Be­
havioral Health.
MCSO received a report of a
possible DUII with the vehicle
driven fast through Cutsforth Park
and the driver being verbally abu­
sive to the park hosts.
Oregon State Police received
a report of a canopy lost off a truck
and stuff all over the road on I-
84.
MCSO received a report from
the Walla Walla Sheriffs Office
that two males in a 1980 light blue
Chevy truck tried to pick up a
couple of girls in Touchet, WA.,
did a line of coke in front o f the
girls and said they had more. They
were headed back to lrrigon.
MCSO received a report of a
vehicle hit-and-run in Boardman.

a report of 3-4 juveniles by the
creek under the bridge by the li­
brary.

checked on a person working late
on a computer at Columbia Middle
School, Imgon.
Heppner Police Dept, received
a report from a female that her
mother had been drinking and was
trying to leave the residence. The
mother’s boyfriend was trying to
keep her from leaving, but the
mother was getting upset.
MCSO deputy cited Sergio
Ramirez Lopez, 23, Portland, for
DUII. Lopez was also cited for
No Operating License and No
Insurance.

lance received a report of a fight
in progress with a lot of yelling.
One male, unconscious, with a
head wound, was transported to
Pioneer Memorial Hospital in
Heppner.

Chevy driving westbound in the
eastbound side of Highway 730
in Imgon that was trying to pull
another vehicle out of the ditch.
Boardman Police Dept, re­
ceived a request for an officer for
a stray dog that was hanging
around and causing havoc at the
Sandpiper Apts, in Boardman.

shop broken into and tools stolen
in Imgon.

single vehicle rollover on the

young males in the vehicle. They
requested no ambulance.
