During the fair and rodeo
season the Morrow County Fair
and Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo
pennant bearers do an
outstanding job of representing
our county and its fair and
rodeo. This year's pennant
bearers include Salli McElligott
and Tracy Griffith of lone;
Nichole Marshall, Boardman;
and Chantea Macaulay and
Genia Grant of Heppner.
Salli McElligott is the daughter
of Paul and Charity McElligott
of lone. Salli will be a
sophomore this fall at lone High
School. She is involved in
several community activities
along with 4-H and sports. She
was a member of the 1998 State
1 A volleyball team, and is class
president and lone student
representative to the park
district. Salli has competed in 4-
H horse, sewing, beef and swine.
Chantea Macaulay is the
daughter of Bill and Lizz Green
of Heppner. Chantea attends
Heppner High School and has
three younger brothers. At
Heppner High she is a honor
student, a member of student
council and a member of the
Outdoor Club. She participates
in Ponies basketball and
volleyball. Chantea has taken
Nichole Marshall
part in lamb and horse 4-H for
the past four years. Her mount
for this rodeo season is an eight-
year-old thoroughbred named
"Wyatt".
Tracy Griffith is the daughter
of Glen and Kelly Griffith of
lone. Tracy is quite the
accomplished cowgirl. She has
spent all of her life working on
her family ranch. Most of her
spare time is spent rodeoing or
riding her horses for fun. She
will be a freshman at lone High
School this fall where she will
play volleyball and basketball.
Nichole Marshall is the
daughter of Donna Neighbors of
Boardman. She has been a
junior leader for the All-
American Cowgirls (a drill team
on horseback) from 1994-97.
Nichole has participated in many
junior rodeos. She has been
FFA Chapter President and the
district photographer and is
involved in OHSRA and
NHSRA.
Nichole enjoys
running
track,
playing
basketball, high school rodeo,
barrel racing and exercising
other people's horses.
Genia Grant is the daughter of
Bonnie Grant, a former Morrow
County Fair and Rodeo princess,
of Heppner and the late Mike
Grant. She attends Heppner
High School. Genia has two
older brothers, an older sister
and a younger sister. Her
hobbies
are
volleyball,
basketball and softball. Genia is
looking forward to spending
time with the court and
representing Morrow County at
different places this summer.
