Why Be A Part o f the
Chamber?
You don't buy a newspaper,
you buy news. You don't buy
glasses, you buy vision. You
don't buy awnings, you buy
shade. You don't buy a mattress,
you buy comfort. You don't buy
a lamp, you buy light. You don't
buy a membership in an
organization,
you
buy
cooperation with people to
accomplish goals you cannot
attain alone.
We invite businesses and
individuals to join the Chamber
o f Commerce so we can help
each other meet the goals to
continue events, activities and
putting our heads together for
Heppner's future.
Members are welcome at
every
noon
luncheon
if
convenient for them or they can
volunteer as an ambassador, or
share ideas and just go about
their
busy
lives
feeling
comfortable that they have
invested in an organization that
is working for their benefit, their
community, and their business.
The Chamber is 70 strong and
growing for Heppner and the
Willow Creek Valley.
Next week those attending the
noon luncheon at Kate's will
continue
the
community
evaluation checklist, which gives
a greater awareness o f the
economic development process
in small communities along with
our strengths and weaknesses.
Though for the week: "Learn to
be trustworthy and you shall
have less difficulty putting your
trust in others."

Baseball
Fourteen young all-star boys,
Their ages 9 and 10,
Went to Madras to play baseball,
They were hoping for a win.
Their first game started out,
With us behind zero to six.
But those boys were not worried,
The crowd was about to see
some tricks.
Stealing bases, sliding home,
These hoys, they gave their all,
Best part about it, was the
smiles,
They were really having a ball.
The second day was just as fun,
Heads up ball they played.
Their errors were few, the hits
were great,
Wish you had seen the plays
they made.
Then home to Heppner, this
young team came
They played for their home
crowd.
Things weren't going well for
these kids,
Even though you cheered real
loud.

Revenge, this team was looking
for.
The end o f the season had come
for our boys,
But you need not know the

For the game was long, the

But still the boys they tried.
And when that ump gave a

Not a single boy cried.
Now we all know that life's not
