Richard Lundell
Richard Lundell, 88, of
Pendleton, died Sunday, June 27,
1999, at St. Anthony Hospital in
Pendleton.
Recitation of the Rotary was
at the chapel at Bums Mortuary
of Pendleton on Wednesday, June
30, 1999. Funeral Mass was
Thursday, July 1, 1999 at St.
M ary’s Catholic Church in
Pendleton with burial at the Hepp
ner Masonic Cemetery in Hepp
ner.
Mr. Lundell was bom August
26,1910, at Gooseberry, to Ernest
Richard and Lena Pearl Baker
Lundell. He grew up at lone and
attended lone schools, graduating
from lone High School in 1928.
He served with the U.S. Army
Air Force during World War II.
On November 15, 1942, he
married Jane Fitzpatrick at
Yakima.
He worked on the family farm
near lone from 1943 until 1951,
when he moved his family to
Pendleton.
He worked for Pendleton Gram
Growers for four years and at
Inglehart Flour Mill for 25 years.
Mr. Lundell was a volunteer at
the Pendleton Round-Up for 25
years.
He enjoyed his grandchildren
and attending their sporting events.
His hobby was gardening.
He was a member o f St.
Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Jane, of Pendleton; sons, Richard
of Pendleton and Michael o f
Milton-Freewatir; daughters,
Sharon Fletcher of Milton-Free-
water and Michelle St. Laurence
of Port Angeles; a sister, Helen
Pettyjohn of lone; 10 grandchil
dren and eight great-grandchil
dren.

Correa, 60, o f Haines, Alaska,
died of cancer on Monday, June
14,1999, at Juneau, Alaska.
A memorial service will be held
at the First Christian Church in
Hermiston on Friday, July 9,1999,
at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Correa was bom April 17,
1938, st Hermiston, to Jasper and
Lila Myers. She was raised in the
Buttercreek ares and graduated
from Echo High School.
On April 28,1957, she married
Bill Correa in Pendleton. They
moved to Haines, Alaska, in 1967.
Survivors include her husband,
Bill, at the home in Haines; son,
Charles of Juneau, Alaska; and
four grandchildren; her mother,
Lila Myers of Hermiston; brother,
Jerry Myers of Buttercreek; and
sister, Shirley Becker of Portland.
She was preceded in death by her
father, Jasper Myers, and brother,
Charles Myers.

Ninety-seven were present for the senior meal June 30 and 14 meals
were home delivered. Members of the Methodist Church served.
Blood pressures were taken before the meal.
The menu for July 14 will be: hot beef sandwich, mashed potatoes,
green salad, fruit cup and peanut butter cookies. The Christian
Missionary Fellowship will serve. A Senior Center Board meeting will
be held after the meal.
Anna Mae Steagall's name was omitted on the list of volunteers
assisting at the Red Cross blood drawing June 24.She did a great job.
Four people rode over to Pendleton with Corol Mitchell Monday, June
28, to attend the Senior Mental Health Conference. It was very
interesting and informative.
The senior bus will go to Maryhill museum July 15. A few seats are
still available on the bus. There is no admission charge for Morrow
and Gilliam County residents during July. The bus leaves Heppner at
8:30 a.m. and stops at lone at 9 a.m. A bus will travel to the Hermiston
Meal Site July 22 at 10:30 a.m.
Volunteers at the Senior Center folded 4-H newsletters for the
Extension service Tuesday, June 29, after exercises. Cards were
played Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
Special date to remember: July 16-17 big rummage/yard sale. The
center board committee reports that lots of quality items are coming in
for the yard/rummage/auction sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 16-17.
The silent" auction on large items (sofas, chairs, tables, freezer,
computer) will close at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17.
They have a real need right now for volunteer workers to help with
pricing, setting up and clean-up. All who want to help should call the
office, 676-9030 or 676-9435.
