continued from page 5
is doing another risk analysis as
talk
about
alternative
technologies resurfaces.
The court authorized Judge
Tallman to sign the application
to DEQ for a waste tire cleanup
when Mabbott and the code
enforcement
officer
have
prepared it.
Public Health Director Laura
McElligott discussed with the
court her concern with HB 2633,
which requires notice to parents
o f minors wanting an abortion
but contains a provision that
would allow the health division
to
authorize
pregnancy
terminations without notice to
parents. Hanlon reported that
the Association o f Oregon
Counties is working to build a
middle ground between pro-
choice and parental consent
advocates. McElligott expressed
concern that requirements of this
bill would damage the reputation
of health departments.
The court approved a
correction to the bargain and
sale deed with the city o f lone,
decided to request from the Fair
Board a recommendation of
someone to appoint to its
vacancy, and appointed Bill
Sheirbon to the Commission on
Children and Families. It also
approved the extension of
intergovernmental cooperative
agreement with Umatilla County
for juvenile detention and
approved accepting the deed
from ODOT in a road exchange
agreement for the Morgan East
Road and signing the quit claim
deed. The court approved a
consent to participate agreement.
