for second place for District 7-2A and first place in the CBC/Big Sky Invitational at Condon and tied for
second place at the Goldendale Invitational.
The Heppner High School track
team will send 14 athletes, seven
girls and seven boys, to the 2A
state track tournament this Friday
and Saturday, May 21-22, at
Monmouth.
The Heppner girls took second
place at the district meet in
Hermiston May 14 and 15 in
Hermiston. They had 100 points
to Pilot Rock's 117.
The Heppner boys were third at
the district meet with 88 points,
behind winner Stanfield with 147
points and runner up Wahtonka
with 132.
Heppner girls qualifying for
state with first or second-place
finishes at district include Amber
Peck, Brooke Boyer, Casey
Ingraham, Abby Kahl, Paula
Spicerkuhn and Trisha Adams.
Amy Papineau will attend as an
alternate.
Boys qualifying include Jared
Eckman, Levi Geer, Casey
Evans, Michael Schonbachler,
David Piper, Ryan Matteson and
Craig Scott.
Amber Peck, a senior tips year, ,
won the 100-itft<£r dash with a
time of 12.VI and took second in
the- JOO meter low hurdles with a
time of 48.6.
Peck was a part
of the 1600-meter relay team,
along with juniors Trisha Adams
and Abby Kahl and senior
Brooke Boyer, who took first at
district with a time of 4.16.07.
Peck was also a member of the
100-meter relay, with Adams,
Boyer and junior Casey
Ingraham, who finished second
with a time of 52.54.
Ingraham also took two first
place finishes, in the long jump
at 16T/4" and the triple jump at
34'4", and set a new school triple
jump record.
Boyer was second in the 400
meter dash with a time of 1.03.3;
Kahl was second in the 800
meter dash with 2.29.26; and
Spicerkuhn was second in the
3,000 meter run at 13.12.
