Eastern releases
honor roll
Eastern Oregon University's
1998 winter quarter dean's list
includes the names of 307
students who achieved a grade
point average of 3.5 or better.
To qualify for the dean's list,
students must have a minimum
of 12 graded credit hours.
Students from the Morrow

Gunderson and John Qualls;
Lexington-Tina
Kemp and
Becky Wagenblast.
Youth receive awards at
St. Patrick Church
Sarah Eckman received a
plaque for perfect attendance at
the Young Patrician Study
Group at St. Patrick's Church
for the year 1998-99. Fr. Gerry
Condon made the presentation at
the 11 a m Mass at St. Patrick's
on Sunday, May 9.
Kristi Worden was presented
with a plaque for outstanding
service by a student. In making
the presentation, Fr. Condon told
of
her
participation
in
community food drives, helping
at the Senior Mealsite, at the
annual St. Patrick's dinner and
with summer school classes; her
service trip to Mexico with Los
Embajadores, her attendance at
diocesan summer camps, her
being an altar server for six
years and a catechetical teacher's
helper for six years and her
regular attendance at the Young
Patrician Study Group classes.
Holly Rebekah hosts Rebekah Assembly officials

Holly Rebekah Lodge recently
hosted the vice president of the
Rebekah Assembly of Oregon*
Joyce Lynn, and her husband, past
grand master of the Oddfellows
of Oregon.
At the meeting the vice grand
installed the officers for the com
ing year, with her husband acting
as installing marshal.
Following the regular meeting,
vice president Joyce Lynn spoke
about the various projects of the
Oddfellows and Rebekahs, such
as the U.N Pilgrimage; Friendship
Fund; eye bank research; and
community services. She con
gratulated Holly on keeping up the
hall, which is available for com
munity affairs, and their support
of the Oddfellows home in Port
land.
Lynn said the glass case do

keepsakes was interesting to her
and her husband. Keepsakes in
clude official jewelry, pictures, roll
calls back from the organization’s
first years, costume jewelry and
pictures of past state officers and
assemblies.
