Club to meet
The Morrow County Creative
Arts and Crafts Club will get
together on Thursday, March 25,
at Yaw's banquet room after a 1
p.m. lunch.
A short meeting will follow to
discuss the Arts and Crafts Club
sale held at Les Schwab on St.
Patrick's Day and upcoming
workshops.
Guests are welcome to attend.

County Court meets
Based on a report from Morrow
County
Road
Department
director Guy Van Arsdale, the
Morrow County Court, at its
regular meeting March 10,
approved
a
permit
for
CenturyTel to replace old phone
line on Shobe Canyon Road.
The court heard reports that the
county road crew continues
work on ditch cleaning, drainage
and weed spraying.
Two
employees
have
received
training on the Marion County
computer system that will show
the condition of county roads
and figure costs to bring them to
good ratings.
Repairs to the hangar roof has
begun and Crown Pacific has
begun work on the pilots'
lounge.
The court discussed the
question of posting the speed
limit at 55 on Bombing Range
Road, as someone has voiced
concern over the landfill turnoff.
Van Arsdale will work with the
sheriff on a recommendation for
the court.
The court approved the use of a
grader for some work at the
fairgrounds.
The court observed the second
reading of the amendment to the
weed control ordinance and
approved the amendment to
ordinance MC-C-3-90, effective
immediately.
The permit requested by
Cascade Natural Gas, the court
agreed, must be contingent upon
a report by the Oregon PUC
engineer, which Cascade is
required to provide.
The court approved publishing
notice of a public hearing for a
road vacation, though not legally
required, because "100 percent
of landowners support it" and
the public works director filed a
positive report.

agreement with EC Power
Systems for maintenance of the

The cake recipe is as follows:
Sinfully Delicious Chocolate
Cake
3 cups plus 6 tablespoons sifted
cake flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup sweetened ground
chocolate
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk
1 cup oil
1 cup water
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Lightly grease 10" pan or use
spray. Heat oven to 350. In a
large mixing bowl, add all
ingredients for cake in order
given. Mix well as you add
liquids. Pour batter into bundt
pan and bake about 1 hour. Cool
5-10 minutes before inverting on
a plate. When cool, frost with
Fudge Frosting.
Fudge Frosting
1/2 cube butter
3/4 cup sweetened ground
chocolate
1/4 cup milk
2 cups powdered sugar
While cake is baking, melt
butter in
saucepan.
Add
chocolate and milk. Stir until
smooth. Allow to cool to room
temperature and add powdered
sugar until right consistency to
frost the cooled cake.

KLAMATH HAST FIDERAI'S
The senior dinner was well attended Wednesday, March 10. The new
hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. seem to be working very well. Members of
the Catholic Church served at the dinner. The Senior Board met
following the meal.
The menu for dinner March 24 will be hot chicken salad with rice,
mixed vegetables, spinach salad, french bread and peach cobbler.
Members of the Episcopal Church will serve.
The senior breakfast and soup, roll, pie and coffee luncheon Saturday,
March 13, were very successful.
The Senior Center quilt raffle was won by Roger Amtt. Daisy Collins
who made the beautiful quilt.
Bingo will be held Friday night, Mar. 19. Proceeds go to help support
the Senior Center.
Remember to bring your Red Apple receipts to the Center. They help
the center a lot.
Cards are still being played Tuesday and Friday afternoons and other
days when enough people get together. There is always a jigsaw
puzzle to work on also. Exercise class is Tuesday and Thursday at 10
a.m. Blood pressures are taken before the Wednesday meal.
The Red Cross will have another blood drawing March 23 at the
center. Come give the gift of life.
