FSA committee election underway
The slate of nominees for the
upcoming Farm Service Agency
county committee election has
been developed, Skip Matthews,
County Executive Director for
the local FSA, announced.
"The lone Community will be
electing their representative this
time," Matthews said. "There are
three areas in Morrow County
and the elections rotate on a
yearly basis."

Fifty-nine people over age 60 and nine under 60 were present for
the senior Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 18. Members of the Lutheran
Church served. Members of the the United Methodist Church will
serve on Dec. 2.
Thirty-four people over 60 and four under attended the Thursday
lunch. The menus for the senior dinners in December are not
available at this time. Thursday lunches will not be held in Dec.
Sue Cooper, the Thursday cook, is recuperatingfrom surgery. We
miss her and wi.sh her a speedy recovery. Ruby Speers is filling
in for her at the Wednesday meals and doing frozen meals.
Bingo was played Friday night. Bingo will be played Friday, Dec.
27, at 7 p.m.
Two tables of pinochle were in play Tuesday and Thursday.
The seniors were saddened by the death of Sandi Amtt. There
will be a memorial service for her at the Senior Center Saturday,
Dec. 5. We extend deepest sympathy to her family.

The FSA Committee election
will be conducted by mail from
November 20 through December
1. Voters may also get ballots at
the county PSA office. Eligible
FSA voters will receive a ballot
in the mail with instructions on
how to vote for candidates of
their choice and return the ballot
to the county FSA office. Ballots
will be counted Dec. 7 at the
Pettyjohn Building Conference
room.
Participation in FSA elections is
open to all farmers regardless of
race, religion, sex, color, age,
handicap, or national origin, said
Matthews.
Health screening slated at BMCC
The Blue Mountain Community
College Health and Physical
Education
Department
is
sponsoring a blood screening on
Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 7-11
a.m. in the Mac Center
Mezzanine.
The screening will include the
following options:
-Cholesterol, $7, a single test
that provides a good reference
number.
-Cardiac risk panel, $13, a panel
that includes: cholesterol, HDL,
LDL, VLDL, tnglycendes, and a
cholesterol/ HDL ratio. It
provides a total cholesterol, as
well
as
the
individual
components, and offers more
specific information.
-Health Fair profile and cardiac
risk panel, $18, includes the
cardiac risk panel and 16 other
blood chemistry tests. Glucose,
liver enzymes, protein, and
electrolyte levels are also part of
this panel.
Staff from the P.E. department
note it is preferable to fast for 12
hours prior to the collection of
your blood. A follow up
educational presentation with Dr.
Larry Adams will be held on
Friday, Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. to
12 noon in PI 48. Those
interested are asked to make
appointments with Tammie
