The Morrow County Sheriffs
Office (MCSO) reports handling
the following business during the
past weeks:
Oct. 3: Heppner Police Dept,
cited Charles David Ruckman, 27,
for Criminal Trespass I.
MCSO dispatched to the Ore
gon State Police a report of a cow/
car accident on Highway 97. The
caller was unsure of the state of
the cow or the car.
MCSO deputy cited Rodney
Patrick Martinez, 43, for DUII.
MCSO deputy responded to a
report of an unwanted subject at
a residence who threatened the
occupant.
Oct. 5: MCSO received a re
port of someone getting into an
Imgon residence by going through
a bedroom window. A playstation
and other items were missing.
MCSO deputy, Oregon State
Police, Ione EMTs and the Hepp
ner ambulance responded to a re
port of a fight and an intoxicated
driver in Ione. A suspect came to
a residence with blood all over his
shirt, a gash over his eye, and very
intoxicated. He said he had got
ten into a fight and left the resi
dence, taking a third person’s 1968
Chrysler, smashing into other ve
hicles. He was reported to have
almost hit two pedestrians as he
came speeding around a comer.

assaulted by another man in
Boardman.
MCSO received a request to
deliver a message to a person in
Irrigon that his grandfather was
terminally ill.
MCSO deputy arrested Vernon
Eugene Johnson, 38, Ione, for
Assault II, Unauthorized Use of
a Motor Vehicle, Burglary I, Kid
nap I, Menacing, Reckless Driv
ing, Failure to Perform the Duties
of a Driver in a Motor Vehicle
Accident, Hit and Run and DUII.
Johnson was lodged at the
Umatilla County Sheriffs Office
jail.
MCSO dispatched to the
Wheeler County Sheriffs Office
a request to find a man who was
hunting to deliver a message that
his wife was having a baby.
MCSO received a report of a
mail sack missing from a mail box
at Highway 74, Lena.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman Police Dept, a report
of an alarm at a Boardman resi
dence. It turned out to be work
ers at the residence.
MCSO received a report of a
possible DUII on 1-84, westbound.
MCSO received a request for
an officer to cite two juveniles
with MIP-tobacco. Two 13 year
olds were cited.
MCSO received a report of a
fire alarm at an Irrigon residence.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman Police Dept, a report
of an unwanted subject at a
Boardman residence.
MCSO deputy and Boardman
Police Dept, responded to a re
port of someone in a house when
the resident got home. The resi
dent of the house went to the
neighbor’s. The neighbor found no
one there, but two rooms had been
gone through.
Oct. 7: MCSO received a re
port from the Hermiston Police
Dept, of three calls about a horse
out on Highway 730 about two
miles east of Irrigon, headed to
Irrigon. Someone offered toplace
the horse in a corral when it was
rounded up.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman ambulance a report of
a man with chest and arm pain.
The patient was transported to
Good Shepherd Community Hos
pital in Hermiston.
MCSO dispatched to the Mor
row County Road Dept, a report
of a sign partially down at Home
stead and Bombing Range roads.
MCSO dispatched to the Ore
gon State Police a report of a tres
passer at Potlatch who was rifle
hunting. He was asked to leave
and he did.
MCSO received a report of a
number of syringes and needles
on the playground at A.C.
Houghton school.
MCSO received a report of a
dog poisoned in its yard. Two days
previously, a neighbor left a mes
sage on the owner’s answering
machine that said, “Something has
to be done about that dog.”
MCSO received a report of a
theft at A.C. Houghton school. A
nine year old was cited with Theft

responded to a report of a brush
fire and outbuilding on fire at a
ranch off Ridge Road. The per
son called back to say the house
was now on fire too.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman Police Dept, a report
of a neighbor kicking a dog and
then the dog disappeared.
MCSO deputy, Oregon State
Police, Boardman Police Dept,
responded to a report of a woman
with a baseball bat at an Imgon
residence requesting her children.
Both parents have custody of the
children. The Hermiston Police
Dept, reported that the woman
was trying to gain entry by hitting
the door with the bat.
MCSO received a report of a
possible drunk driver heading to
ward Boardman from Imgon.
Oct. 8: MCSO received a re
port from a woman that two pick
ups were in a vacant lot across
the road from her with possibly
one truck stuck. The woman said
a bunch of people were around
and were having “way too much
fun” attempting to get the truck
unstuck. An officer was unable
to locate anyone.
MCSO received a report of
someone driving through a fence
and sawing trees on the property
in Imgon.
MCSO received a report of
dumped garbage at Irrigon.
MCSO dispatched to the Hepp
ner ambulance a report of a man
experiencing chest pains.
MCSO received a report of a
black cow running down Oregon
Street in Irrigon.
MCSO received a report of
two black cows in a yard in
Imgon. The caller was afraid they
would be run down if they went
down Kunze Road.
MCSO received a request to
deliver a message to Cutsforth
Park of a death in the family.
MCSO dispatched to the Ore
gon State Police a report of two
bales of hay in the road east of an
Imgon exit.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman Police Dept, a report
of a dog that has threatened a
woman. The woman is so fright
ened that she won’t come out of
her house to even get the news
paper. The dog has also intimidated
kids in the neighborhood. The
woman’s daughter is threatening
to sue the police if anything hap
pens to her.
MCSO dispatched to SCF a
request for a social worker from
a man who is concerned with the
care his wife is giving his four
month old son. He is separated
from his wife.
MCSO received a report from
a woman who says her ex-hus
band “was verbally violent” to her
on the phone while making ar
rangements to pick up their nine
year old son.
MCSO received a report of a
car left overnight on the Bombing
Range Road that was broken into
and the stereo stolen.
MCSO received a report of
loud music and 15-20 cars in and
out of a residence in Irrigon.

lice Dept, responded to a report
of a fight in progress involving six
persons, one trying to leave in a
car. No weapons were reported.

pickup racing across the street
without stopping at a stop sign.

rested Armando Sanchez-Leyva,
24, with Unlawful Use of a
Weapon. He was cited and re
leased.
Oct. 9: MCSO received a re
port of a motor vehicle accident
in the median on 1-84, westbound.

ner Police Dept, a request for an
officer to deliver a message of a
death to a woman in Heppner.

received a report of two people in
a new green Dodge that ran an

An officer was unable to locate
anyone.

ambulance a report of a man in
Wasco getting his arm caught in a
baler. The caller said the victim
was not breathing and he was
unable to do CPR.

napped. The parents were trying
to force their daughter into a van.

Condon Police Dept, a report of
someone breaking into a woman’s
home and strewing all her things
outside.

rested Mark C. Duvall, 33, on
Theft I and Burglary IL He was

Sheriff s Office jail.

of two eight-nine year old kids
vandalizing the old Circle K build
ing in Boardman, breaking secu
rity lights.
MCSO received a request for
assistance for a driver who locked
their keys in a van at the Heppner
Methodist Church.
Oct. 10: MCSO dispatched to
the Fossil City Marshal a report
of a woman assaulted by her
mother-in-law at the Shamrock in
Fossil. The woman’s face was
swollen but she refused an ambu
lance. The woman later requested
the Oregon State Police and
wanted her mother-in-law ar
rested.

at Kegler’s Market.
MCSO dispatched to the Hepp
ner ambulance a report of a hunter
with possible diabetic shock, who
was conscious and breathing, off
of Hanna Arbuckle Road.

of three large dogs with two pos
sibly being Huskies, hanging
around the community church.
The caller was concerned for
children’s safety.

Columbia River. The occupants
swam to shore.

Dept, arrested Brian Henry
Bumside. 18, for three counts of
Criminal Mischief I. Bumside was
lodged at the Umatilla County
Shen ffs Office jail.

a Firearm.

caller was concerned over the

of a man threatened with a knife
by two 18 year olds in Boardman.

Oct. 11: MCSO received a re

the Hermiston Police Dept, that a
child had called from a neighbor’s

tic situation. A male was outside
the residence breaking windows
in a vehicle.

Police, Boardman ambulance re
sponded to a report of a woman
in the ditch on 1-84 westbound,
milepost 154. It turned out to be
people picking up pop cans and
having lunch.
