Colts remain unbeaten
Heppner High crowns homecoming court

The Colts played great defense
all game as Simplot could never
get closer than die 30-yard line.
Defensive end Brandon Seitz,
nose guard Flynn and middle
linebacker Aaron Delveaux led
the defense.
The Colts play again on
Wednesday, Sept. 30, against
Walmart at Heppner at 6:30 p.m.

The Heppner Colts moved to 3-
0 on the year by beating Simplot
from Hermiston, 20-0
on
Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The Colts moved down the
field on their first possession
behind the running of Jode Coil,
Tyler Boyer and J.C. Sherri«.
Kory Paullus capped the drive
with a five-yard run up the
middle for the touchdown. The
kick failed and the Colts led, 6-0.
In the second quarter Sherri«
took off around the left end on a
bootleg for a 25-yard touchdown.
The kick was no good and the
Colts led 12-0 at halftime.
After a scoreless third quarter
Coil took the ball around end on
a quarterback keeper for 15 yards
and a touchdown. David Flynn
kicked the extra point to make
Simplot 0-0-0-0- 0

The HHS Booster Club
Auction will be Saturday October
17, at the Heppner Elks Club.
Dinner will start at 6 p.m., with
the auction beginning at 8 p.m.
Dinner and raffle tickets are
available at the Shoe Box or at
the door. A Model #700
Remington 270 Caliber Rifle will
be one of the many items
included in the raffle. You need
not be present to win.

lone topic club holds first meeting
Biking coast to coast
lone Topic Club held its first
fall meeting Sept. 23 at the home
of June Crowell with Christy
Crowell assisting. Teri Clay was
a guest.
Special program for the day
was a report by Katie Tworek
and Miranda McElligott on their
trip for Lost Embajadores (The
Ambassadors) to Parsoquail El
Christo Rey in Mexico. Christy,
Miranda, Erin Crowell and Nikki
McElligott went with a group of
41 Oregon youth to help the
people of the area pour the
foundation for their church. The
girls were very enthusiastic about
their time there saying that they
made many new friends and
thought that it was a worthwhile
experience.

reading program for six weeks
with 41 different children
attending.
This year members will read

Cancer Society office located at

meeting will include a Proton
Therapy lesson.

A two-day seminar for area
contractors is being offered
October 2, from 1-8 p.m. and
October 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
at
the
Blue
Mountain
Community College Small
Business Development Center.
The seminar is specifically
aimed at contractors looking for
their 16 hours of classes which
renders them eligible to register
with the Oregon Construction
Contractors Board.
Seminar courses include a four-
hour core course, "Oregon Laws
and Business Practices"; elective
courses "Accounting and Record
Keeping for Contractors," "Basic
Contract Law for Contractors,"
"Oregon
Lien
Law
for
Contractors,"
and
"Jobsite
Safety, OSHA and Workers'
Compensation."
No test is required since
participants will complete the
course with an instructor
present. A certificate will be
. given to participants who
complete the course.
The
seminar is taught by Acom
Legal Resources, Inc., an
accredited provider by the
Oregon Contractors Board.
Cost of the seminar is $200.

The completed trip will total
3,700 miles. Braithwaite said
when she started bicycling in
1988 she weighed 280 pounds,
she now weighs 130.
Her husband drives the camper
they stay in at night while she
pedals. They average about 50
miles per day, he said.
