Sheriff's Report
The Morrow County Sheriffs
Office (MCSO) reports handling
the following business during the
past weeks:
Sept. 9: MCSO received a re­
port of theft of services from the
N ugget Inn in Roardman. A
woman left owing $158.77.
MCSO received a report of an
apartm ent broken into at the
Outback Apts, in Boardman. The
managers were not aware of any
problems.
Thomas Hammon, 32, was
found guilty of Theft II and sen­
tenced to three years probation.
MCSO received a report of a
911 call from a little boy with
sounds of a domestic dispute in
the background in Irrigon. A
woman who was contacted said
she was upset but everything was
okay. No units were available to
check the situation out.
Oregon State Police arrested
Robert Craig Maker, 22, on a
warrant for Burglary I. Maker
was transported to the Umatilla
County Sheriff s Office (UCSO)
jail, but was released due to over­
crowding.
MCSO dispatched to the
Boardman Police Dept, a report
of a lost wallet at Sentry Market
in Boardman. A boy found it and
wouldn’t give it back. The boy
later brought it back.
MCSO dispatched to the Hepp­
ner Police Dept, a report of a sus­
picious pickup across from the
Morrow County Fairgrounds en­
trance in Heppner.
MCSO dispatched to the Or­
egon State Police a report of two
suspicious males on foot by a resi­
dence on Blackhorse Canyon.
Beer cans were left behind.
MCSO and UCSO deputies
responded to a report of an 11
year old and a 14 year old who
didn’t come home from school at
Columbia Junior High School. The
kids were located.
MCSO and UCSO deputies,
Oregon State Police responded to
a report of a domestic dispute in
progress in Irrigon. It turned out
to be in Umatilla County.
Heppner Fire Dept, and fire
chief responded to a report o f a
fire alarm at H eppner High
School. It turned out to be a false
alarm.

Willow Creek Road update
The U.S. Dept, o f Trans­
portation lists its planned
construction activities on Willow
Creek Road for the week of
Monday, Sept. 28:
Tidewater plans to continue
working on the cut slopes above
Smith Ditch and building the
subgrade with some of the
material from these cut slopes.
They are hauling waste material
to a new waste site established
off the FS 53 road on FS 53-020
road. Drivers, be aware that the
FS 53 road will be busy with
dump truck traffic from the
project, as well as the log truck
traffic from the various timber
sales.
For those individuals that are
trying to get to the Penland Lake
areas, there is an alternate route
to get there, by way o f FS 5321
road, then turn on the FS 2103
road to FS 2103-030 road, which
is the Penland Lake Read.
The contractor is utilizing
excavators and dump trucks to
move the waste material. Drivers
on FS 53 road, please observe the
flaggers and remember that they
are there to help you and the
operators o f the equipment.

project will be maintained
throughout the construction
season.
NOTICE TO CITIZENS that

been placed for directions to the
Penland Lake access.
