Coe takes champion senior performance horse at show
Char Coe of Heppner won the
champion senior performance
horse at the Morrow County Open
Horse Show held at the fair­
grounds in Heppner Aug. 9.
This is Coe’s second year in a
row taking the championship. Her
sister, Tricia, took reserve cham­
pion last year.
Kan Mohni was senior reserve
champion.
Lacy Davis took the champion
junior performance horse, while
Angela Munkers was reserve.
Kara Miller was the champion
high point rider 15 and over.
Nonnee Walters was reserve.
Champion high point for the 11-
14 category was Sibbea Jones.
Shanna Wamngton took reserve.
For the 10 and under high point
rider category, R.J. Farren was
champion and Emily Rietmann,
reserve.

ribbon for her presentation on
swimsuits, "Dare to Be Bare".

announced at the 4-H awards on
Saturday, August 22.

Creative Care plans open house
Creative Care Preschool wtl!
hold an open house on Sunday,
August 23, from 4-6 p.m.
Students will be given a chance
to see the preschool and parents
will be able to ask questions
about the program.
All children must be at least
three years of age by September
1 to qualify for enrollment and
must be current on their
immunization status.
The class for the younger group
(three-four years) will be held on
Mondays and Wednesdays from
9-11:30 am and the older group
(four-five years) will meet on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from
8:30-10:30 am.
Classes are held at the United
Church of Christ Youth
Education Building in lone.
Michelle Raible will again be
the teacher for both groups.
Classes will begin on Tuesday,
September 1. Tuition for the
younger group is $45 per month;
tuition for the older group is $50
per month and there is a $15
supply/registration fee at the
time
of
enrollment.
Scholarships are available for
those showing financial need.
Space is very limited. To enroll

On Monday, July 20, "Sew"ers
are We had their fifth 4-H
meeting. It was from 1p.m.-
3p.m. at the parish hall. Krystal
Naims and Kelsie McKinney
were at the meeting.
Kelsie worked on her apron for
fair and Krystal worked on her
apron for fair.
On Friday, July 17, "Sew"ers
are We had another 4-H meeting.
It was held at the parish hall from
lp.m. - 3:30p.m.
Kelsie

were at the meeting.
At the meeting, Kelsie started
working on her apron for fair and
Jenny started working on her
jumper for fair.
Mary Mae Gates molds a clay animal at lone Library’s Summer Reading
Program
A total of 41 children attended
lone Public Library’s Summer
Reading Program this year, which
ran from July 7-Aug. 11. The
theme of the program was “Ani­
mals.”
The children heard animal sto­
nes weekly and enjoyed organized
games, crafts and a field trip. They
also had time weekly to browse
